The Territory Director (TD) provides strategic leadership and oversight of the sales and service functions for an assigned territory including regional groupings of banking centers across the UMB footprint. This role establishes sales goals, strategies and direction for the assigned territory and is responsible for providing coaching to the regional management leadership teams within the line of business. The TD is a key member of the Retail Banking Leadership Team and reports directly to the Retail Banking Head.

Responsibilities include being accountable to meeting or exceeding the annual objectives, goals and strategies agreed upon with the Retail Banking Head and agreed upon by the Bank CEO. This role is accountable to review sales and service results and recognize/reward results and behavior that achieve success as well as address results and behaviors that do not lead to the achievement of goals and objectives with the Regional Management team.  In addition, this individual’s role is to create a work environment that fosters teamwork, high morale, and retention of workforce; and demonstrating leadership and resourcefulness in all interactions with employees, colleagues and customers.

As a Territory Director, responsibilities include close collaboration with leadership peer group including executive members of the bank reinforcing the Universal Banker model, industry best-in-class sales management practices, system efficiencies, innovation and alignment across territories| sales and service channels within the Consumer line of Business and across the enterprise. Other duties as assigned including project assignments.

Requirements

MINIMUM:

  • 10+ years banking   experience or equivalent sales and service experience
  • Bachelor degree in Business Administration or related field and/or equivalent experience

PREFERRED:

  • MBA or equivalent advanced degree
  • 15-20+ years’ experience in banking, lending or a financial services sales organization
  • Leading large teams across multiple regions and locations

Knowledge & Skills

MINIMUM:

  • Proven sales and service management abilities
  • Knowledge of banking products, systems, policies/procedures and regulations
  • Demonstrated skill of people development
  • Ability to leverage impact and influence effectively among peers
  • Ability to build relationships and inspire trust across the organization
  • Ability to present and convey information that influences and calls individuals to action

PREFERRED:

  • Experience leading and building teams across large geographic territories with senior level leadership managing regions and locations
  • Proven skills in building collaboration across various departments, teams and peer group including other lines of business
  • Strong strategic outlook and positioning skills that easily translate to effective tactical execution
  • Ability to influence and lead peer group in projects or initiatives with Consumer and across other lines of business

Compensation Range:

$124,690.00 - $268,200.00
