With R&D and Digital and Tech’s (D&T) joint goals to supercharge data in R&D, the recent changes to the R&D organization to accelerate Research, and our growing footprint with Veeva, this new role will be accountable for creating a clear focus on our Veeva Product Suite. 

This role will be accountable for influencing product roadmaps with Veeva to maximize value, interconnectivity and user experience of Veeva users across GSK’s Development and Chief Medical Officer (CMO) users.  This role will also be accountable for any cross functional activities across Development & CMO Digital & Tech (TBD)

Key Responsibilities

Senior Product Director Veeva CoE Tech will lead a significant team with these critical accountabilities.

  • Single Point Accountable Decision Maker (SPADM) for Clinical and Regulatory Vault Technology implementation decisions

  • Lead the Development Technology Strategic Relationship with Veeva, ensuring GSK has a strong influence in shaping the Veeva Roadmaps for Development Vaults.

  • The Lead will need to build the CoE brand and demonstrate the value to senior R&D business stakeholders and be a strong partner for the Veeva Business CoE

  • Drive the delivery of Vault Platform capabilities, coordinating efforts across Development and other GSK vault teams – ensuring compliant, audit-ready platforms that are efficient, effective with a decreasing Total Cost of Ownership

  • Define and maintain roadmaps for delivering features that help GSK maintain its license to operate, leverage new Veeva features, and integrate with other systems at GSK (e.g., Data Fabric).

  • Support the implementation of new Veeva applications and connections across vaults, simplifying end-to-end processes.

  • Ensure a superior user experience by incorporating user feedback and ensuring seamless interaction with Veeva applications and services.

  • Ensure strategic alignment with the Business Veeva CoE.

  • Oversee and hold accountable Managed Service Providers (Veeva and Accenture) to ensure the delivery of end-to-end services that achieve or exceed objectives.

  • Line management of a team of Product Owners and Technical experts

  • Demonstrate the value delivered through the platform and the managed services to senior business and Tech stakeholders.

  • Financial Management: Accountable for preparing optimal investment proposals in support of agreed product strategy, including total cost of ownership of resulting products.  Responsible for monthly financial reporting and ensuring products are delivered to approved budgets.

Number of Direct Reports : 5-10 Product Directors and Owners

Number of Indirect Reports :Hundreds of 3rd party resources (reporting into the Product Directors and Owners)

Knowledge/Education Required

Minimum Level of Education Required : Bachelors Degree / Graduate in science, engineering, computing or similar discipline

Preferred Level of Education :Master’s or Doctorate Technical degree e.g., Computer Science, engineering, Information Technology or Life-sciences

Previous Experience Required

  • Extensive stakeholder management  and influence at Senior and Vice President  level

  • Deep Expertise in Digital & Tech Product Management and delivery of scaled products that meet regulatory obligations.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience in leading transformation through technology

  • Broad awareness of Pharma and Tech industry

  • Expertise in leading large Digital and Tech teams
