The Logistics Coordinator will work closely with the Supply Chain Manager to manage the movement of components and finished goods between suppliers and the Hourglass Distribution Center. The Logistics Coordinator will route supplier shipments for pickup and delivery to the next destination.  This includes, but is not limited to quoting, scheduling, and documenting transportation for exportation and importation of international supplier shipments. The Logistics Coordinator will be responsible for communicating and tracking all shipments in transit and maintaining clear and accurate dates on each Transfer Order in our ERP.

WHAT YOU DO:

  • Create and maintain accurate Transfer Orders in NetSuite, ensuring dates, items, quantities, etc. match physical shipments in-transit.
  • Reach out to freight forwarders for quotes, review freight costs, and find the most economical mode of transport that achieves the desired delivery date.
  • Ensure prompt pick-up and delivery of shipments through fluid communication and follow-up measures with our external freight forwarding partners.
  • Communicate with the Purchasing team and Supply Chain Planner regarding delays or any issues about the transport of goods between suppliers and to the distribution center.
  • Work closely with Accounting to audit freight invoice discrepancies at end of month.
  • Apply freight and customs costs from shipment invoices to the landed cost of items, so inventory absorbs both the freight and customs cost correctly, in a timely manner.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for any supply issues that may arise (delays, out of spec material, constraints, etc.), understanding the issue in detail and proactively suggest solutions.
  • Work directly with suppliers and freight forwarders to receive shipment documentations and assist with providing artwork and/or HTS codes to effectively help in clearing customs.
  • Acts as an intermediary between the Receiving team at the Hourglass Distribution Center and Supply Chain Specialists on all inbound shipment discrepancies, ensuring smooth communication, understanding, and quick resolution.

  • You are a strong COMMUNICATOR: You are a people person, natural leader and collaborate well with others. You maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders including supply chain specialists, warehousing/distribution, contract manufacturers, and freight forwarders.
  • You are a PROACTIVE LEARNER: You actively seek out learning opportunities and anticipate needs rather than passively waiting.
