About the role:

Key Responsibilities

  • This level of underwriter will be responsible for Underwriting Property risks and will support the growth of the Taiwanese Commercial Property portfolio.
  • Accepts, declines, or modifies new and renewal submissions submitted by brokers.
  • Identifies exposures and analysis required to underwrite an account, whilst maintaining an understanding of the policy coverage
  • Develops a pipeline of new business opportunities, establish production goals and submission flow relative to the book of business.
  • Collaborate with Distribution, and other line(s) of business to target desirable accounts and cross selling opportunities.
  • Strong focus on maintaining Underwriting discipline, while adhering to AIG International Property’s Underwriting strategy
  • Participate in special underwriting projects as needed.
  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with brokers and clients to profitably grow a book of business.

What we’re looking for:

Key Capabilities & Experience:

  • Experience working in a Commercial Insurance Company, Agency, or Brokerage.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
  • Understanding of Commercial Lines products with a focus on Commercial Property
  • Strong attention to detail, particularly when adhering to underwriting guidelines.
  • Ability to execute detailed underwriting referrals, including clear rationale.
  • Demonstrated sales, marketing, and relationship building experience.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, rapidly changing environment.
  • Willingness to be flexible, learn on the job, and maintain a can-do attitude.
  • Competent with analytical tools and technology.
  • Solid presentation skills with an ability to articulate ideas clearly.
  • Understanding around technical pricing, including rating methodology.
  • Clear understanding of local Commercial Insurance market conditions.
  • Experience of Taiwanese product filing and tariff requirements
