We are the largest provider of repairs and maintenance, and regeneration services across the UK. Mears provide tailored rapid-response and planned maintenance services through partnering arrangements with more than 70 local authorities, Arm’s Length Management Organisations and Housing Associations.

About the Role:

As a General Operative you will be working alongside Islington Council providing a stable and profitable contract, delivering excellent service and support through our local teams, who understand the importance of working together for the local community. A General Operative with our Islington branch. You will be out supporting residents with reactive repairs and maintenance across our portfolio of properties, working from ‘job’ to ‘job’, on your planned route with a wide range of general repairs and maintenance task. Part of a local team undertaking high standard General repairs and refurbishment activities to Housing properties, delivering best in class customer service, and satisfying all safety, quality and cost control standards.

Role Criteria:

  • Some multi trade experience in plastering, plumbing, painting, decorating, joinery, and carpentry
  • Experience of working within Building Construction and Maintenance Industry.
  • The ability to assist operatives on two-man jobs with the responsibility for waste management
  • The ability to demonstrate knowledge of skills, technology, and safety procedures for ongoing tasks
  • The ability to understand and interpret work instructions.
