High Performance Computing Apprentices collaborate with a team to support fast-paced, critical programs with classified and Unclassified information systems. Upon completion of this program, you will have the ability to maintain a secure, cost-efficient High Performance Computing system across various classified programs supporting Raytheon’s largest modeling and simulation environment. 

What You Will Do

  • Use command-line tools to manage and maintain Information Systems effectively.

  • Install, configure, and support software applications requested by end users to meet operational needs.

  • Create and refine documentation, training materials, and advanced IT processes and procedures.

What You Will Learn

  • How to manage DT systems administration in a heterogeneous Microsoft Windows and Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment.

  • Windows Server internals and Linux fundamentals, including DNS, DHCP, Active Directory (AD), and server replication methods.

  • Troubleshooting techniques to resolve moderate to high-scope technical problems, including the integration of hardware and operating systems (OS). Data RAID, data backup technologies, and their uses.

  • Collaborating with Cybersecurity professionals to maintain security requirements and compliance standards.

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Must be pursuing a Bachelor’s or advanced degree in Digital Arts, Game Development, Computer Science, or Animation, or a closely related field

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required.​  U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer 

  • An active DoD clearance. 

  • Knowledge and experience with Windows and Linux Server Operating Systems. 

  • Working experience with High Performance Computing job schedulers. 

  • Working experience with troubleshooting computer hardware. 

  • Knowledge of NAS or SAN technologies. 

  • Knowledge of VMWare vCenter, vSphere, and ESXi virtual computing methods (i.e. Nutanix, Hyper-V, etc.). 

  • Basic Windows and Linux scripting. 

  • Experience DNS, DHCP, Active Directory, Centrify, Backup and Recovery enterprise suites.

The salary range for this role is 37,000 USD - 82,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.

Payments under these annual programs are not guaranteed and are dependent upon a variety of factors including, but not limited to, individual performance, business unit performance, and/or the company’s performance.
