We are looking for Solution Architect, Solution Engineering who will work in partnership with other groups within Western Union, such as Sales, FIU, GMI, GSI, and Fraud & Global Consumer Protection. In this unique role, you will be working as Solution Architect, you will be responsible to develop and maintain system architecture strategy and roadmaps, working with engineering partners and business stakeholders.

Role Responsibilities

  • You will be accountable for the architecture, design & implementation of a service delivery model & defining next-generation platforms using the latest frameworks & tools in the agile product team.
  • You will design & develop software that is optimized, well organized & maintainable.
  • You will be driving process improvements, resource planning, optimization & performance management.
  • You will be accountable for the migration of assigned platforms & processes as per project timelines & ensure smooth knowledge transfer in partnership with onshore & offshore stakeholders.
  • Create complex conceptual designs including engineering interfaces and interactions.
  • Research, evaluate and plan technical solutions to business problems, including software evaluations.
  • Oversee implementation and adoption of new technology acquisition, including performing some hands-on engineering implementation.
  • Design integration scenarios for end-to-end system integration of new and existing solutions.
  • Proof of Concept – Evaluate various technologies, performing a proof of concept in each, and define the recommended solution.
  • Develop and maintain system architecture strategy and roadmaps, working with engineering partners and business stakeholders.
  • Contribute to creating a cohesive and reusable engineering architecture that optimizes for speed and value
  • Provide expert level support of Digital engineering, risk and or payments.
  • Be responsible for migration of assigned platforms and processes as per project timelines and ensure smooth knowledge transfer in partnership with onshore and offshore stakeholders
  • Partner with key stakeholders, both off-shore and on-shore, and delivering on the service level agreements
  • Provide mentoring and coaching to Sr Associate, Associates and Jr Associate software engineers.

Role Requirements

  • Total 5 to 8 years of professional experience.
  • Experience in developing, implementing web-based solutions and applying design patterns.
  • Expertise in architecture design concepts, object-oriented design & techniques.
  • Experience in technologies like
    • Core JAVA (preferably Java 8 and above)
    • J2EE
    • Spring
    • Springboot
    • REST
    • Kafka
    • Camel
    • Drools
  • Well versed on Authentication and Authorization frameworks,
  • MAVEN, CI/CD, Jenkins
  • Good knowledge on Microservices, DDD
  • Knowledge of AWS/ Google Cloud Technologies is must
  • Knowledge on Remittance products is desirable
