About the Role
Reporting to the Chief Investment Officer, responsible for leading all aspects of our derivative strategies at GCC and AIA Re from the governance, initiation, management and reporting of the existing and future hedging programs across FX and Rates.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Establish derivatives strategies related to efficient portfolio and Groupwide capital management; in addition to execution of hedging associated with Treasury funding and liquidity management
- Help develop and design the GCC and AIA Re derivative management frameworks, adding new instruments and collateral optimization and management
- Lead the initiation and governance required to implement the derivative programs, as well as the internal and external communications associated with any changes
- Partner with GCC and AIA Re’s delegated asset manager, the SG AMC Derivative Centre of Excellence and the SG AMC Trading team to determine the optimal derivative portfolio strategies, implementation and execution approach
- Develop reporting tools within and outside of Aladdin and Bloomberg to monitor and track derivative positioning, performance relative to Target Risk and collateral efficiency
- Responsible for day-to-day management of the GCC & AIA Re derivatives programs including collateral management, instructing specific trades and instructing rebalancing orders, management of internal stakeholders, etc.
- Lead the monitoring of GCC & AIA Re derivative programs to communicate and ensure that they continue to meet the desired objectives including setting target hedge ratios, approach to calculating Target Risk, performance attribution relative to Target Risk, setting collateral management procedures, etc.
- As derivative subject matter expert within the Broader Capital Management & Treasury team, consult with the Group ALM team and the Reinsurance team as necessary on BU ALM and reinsurance initiatives involving synthetics
- Perform other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirement.
Minimum Job Requirements:
- University graduate in quantitative finance, actuarial science, statistics or other related disciplines with at least 10 years’ post–qualification experience in Banking, Asset Management, Pension or Insurance Investing
- Masters degree and/or additional professional qualifications such as Actuarial Fellow or CFA preferred.
- Past hands-on experience with FX and Rates Derivative Programs
- Sound people and analytical skills
- Track record of developing derivative and investment solutions for long-term institutional investors a plus
- Experience in managing multiple stakeholders and multitasks
- Excellent communication, presentation and project management skills
- Possess business acumen, be innovative and self-driven.
- Ability to deal with and handle multiple and changing priorities.
- Knowledge in insurance products and various financial reporting bases
- Proficiency in Bloomberg, Aladdin & Business Software
