Our Engineering & Systems Design team delivers condition monitoring cabinet design, field instrumentation engineering and technical compliance for gas turbines, steam turbines, compressors and generators across the Oil & Gas and Power Generation industries. We act as a key technical interface between Systems Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Quality and our customers—ensuring that every delivered solution meets the highest standards of safety, reliability and performance.
As a Lead Design Engineer, you will design custom condition‑monitoring cabinets, field wiring solutions and instrumentation layouts using Bently Nevada systems. You will ensure full compliance with customer requirements, technical regulations and global standards (IEC, UL, CE directives). You will collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams, manufacturing, materials management and project stakeholders to deliver high‑quality solutions on time and within scope.
Designing custom condition‑monitoring cabinets and hardware solutions based on customer specifications
Creating and revising system layouts, wiring diagrams, loop drawings and junction box designs using E‑PLAN, CAD or MicroStation
Leading mechanical modifications for upgrade projects and supporting cabinet redesign activities
Providing technical support to manufacturing, services and supply chain, including BOM creation and FAT/pre‑FAT support
Ensuring compliance with CE directives, safety standards and internal design practices
Leading complex design projects from concept through validation and release
Recommending design improvements to enhance quality, cost efficiency and execution speed
Identifying process‑improvement opportunities and participating in organizational initiatives
Supporting Sales and Commercial teams with scope definition and engineering effort estimation
Reporting incidents and applying STOP WORK authority when safety risks are identified
To be successful in this role you will:
Hold a BSc degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
Have experience using CAD tools—preferably E‑PLAN or AutoCAD Electrical
Understand CE directives (EMC, LVD) and industry standards (IEC, UL, functional safety)
Bring experience with continuous improvement and quality initiatives
Be a strong team player with the ability to work in a multicultural, matrix environment
Demonstrate excellent problem‑solving, troubleshooting and analytical skills
Be proficient in MS Word, Excel and PowerPoint
Be willing to travel when required
Knowledge of condition monitoring systems
Experience designing for hazardous environments (ATEX)
Understanding of safety standards (IEC 61508 / IEC 61511)
Troubleshooting skills across hardware, software and networking
Ability to manage multiple projects under tight deadlines
Strong communication, interpersonal and leadership abilities
Willingness to travel domestically and internationally
