Role Overview

The Defence Sales Leader is responsible for driving revenue growth by identifying, developing, and closing cybersecurity opportunities across public sector clients. This role will work closely with presales, delivery, and product teams to position cybersecurity solutions that address client risk, compliance, and operational resilience needs.

The successful candidate will combine strong client engagement skills with an understanding of cybersecurity services and solutions, enabling them to translate technical capabilities into business value for customers.

Key Responsibilities

Business Development & Revenue Growth

  • Identify and develop new cybersecurity business opportunities across targeted industry sectors.
  • Build and manage a strong sales pipeline covering cybersecurity services, managed security services, and security technology solutions.
  • Drive the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification to proposal development, negotiation, and deal closure.
  • Achieve and exceed assigned revenue targets.

Client Engagement

  • Establish trusted relationships with key stakeholders including CISOs, CIOs, security leaders, and IT decision-makers.
  • Understand customer cybersecurity challenges and translate them into tailored solutions.
  • Lead client presentations, solution discussions, and commercial negotiations.

Solution Positioning

  • Work closely with presales and technical teams to develop compelling solution proposals.
  • Position the company’s cybersecurity offerings including:
    • Security operations and monitoring
    • Governance, Risk & Compliance (GRC)
    • Penetration testing and security assessments
    • Cloud security
    • OT/IoT security
    • Security consulting and integration services

Tender & Proposal Management

  • Lead responses to RFPs, RFQs, and tender submissions.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders including presales, delivery teams, finance, and legal to ensure competitive proposals.
  • Ensure proposals clearly articulate value, differentiation, and delivery capability.

Market & Industry Awareness

  • Maintain strong awareness of cybersecurity trends, threat landscape developments, and regulatory requirements.
  • Track competitor offerings and market positioning to strengthen sales strategies.

Internal Collaboration

  • Collaborate with delivery teams to ensure solutions are scoped accurately and aligned with client requirements.
  • Provide market feedback to product and leadership teams to support service development.
  • Support account planning and strategic growth initiatives.

Requirements

  • 10 years of experience in enterprise technology or cybersecurity sales.
  • Proven track record of achieving sales targets and closing complex deals.
  • Experience selling cybersecurity services, consulting, or managed security solutions is highly preferred.
  • Strong consultative selling and client engagement skills
  • Ability to translate technical concepts into business value
  • Experience managing large proposals and tender submissions
  • Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
  • Relevant cybersecurity or sales certifications are an advantage.
