Role Overview
We are seeking a Principal AI/Business Intelligence Data Analyst to define, lead, and scale this transformation. This role sits at the intersection of data, business processes, and technology, shaping the creation of trusted, connected, and AI-ready data foundations that support F5’s future digital identity at an enterprise level.
This is not a traditional data governance/management role. You will directly contribute to enabling F5’s long-term AI strategy through high-quality, connected, and insight-ready data by:
Translating complex business needs into enterprise-scale data and insight solutions
Influencing how data flows across systems to enable advanced analytics and AI use cases
Driving a shift toward data as a product, where quality, accessibility, governance, and usability are embedded into the design of systems
The ideal candidate combines deep business analysis expertise, strong data intuition, and technical fluency, and operates with a mindset focused on strategic impact, scalability, and cross-functional leadership.
Primary Responsibilities
Lead analysis and redesign of business processes and data flows to enable enterprise-wide data connectivity and insight generation, leveraging modern data quality tools, frameworks, and techniques
Identify, prioritize, and drive initiatives that transition manual data handling to automated, intelligence-driven, and scalable solutions
Define and guide the development of AI-ready data foundations, ensuring data is structured, governed, and accessible for predictive and machine learning use cases across the enterprise
Translate complex, ambiguous business problems into strategic data requirements and solution frameworks that support:
Reporting and dashboards
Predictive analytics
AI/ML initiatives
Streamlined, scalable operational processes
Lead the design and evolution of data governance and metadata strategies, emphasizing automation, usability, and long-term sustainability
Partner with engineering, architecture, and data teams to shape and influence the design of scalable data pipelines, models, and platform capabilities
Contribute to and influence the development of enterprise data products, ensuring alignment with business strategy and analytics needs
Guide testing, validation, and business adoption approaches to ensure successful delivery and measurable outcomes
Establish and evolve data lifecycle management practices, including creation, updates, and remediation across systems
Operate as a key connector between business context and technical execution, driving alignment across senior stakeholders
Identify and communicate risks, dependencies, and opportunities to influence data strategy, investment decisions, and prioritization
Proactively drive improvements to data capabilities in support of AI, advanced analytics, and future-state business processes
Contribute thought leadership to evolve the organization’s approach toward data transformation, insight generation, and intelligent automation
Drive strategies to maximize the value of data assets, including data cataloging, lineage, discoverability, and marketplace capabilities
Lead root cause analysis of systemic data issues, identifying patterns and implementing sustainable, cross-functional solutions
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Advanced technical, analytical, problem-solving, and systems-thinking capabilities
Demonstrated ability to operate with high autonomy and accountability, driving outcomes in complex, ambiguous environments
Strong ability to influence without authority and align diverse stakeholders across Business, Technology, and Data organizations
Expertise in framing complex problems and driving enterprise-scale solutions aligned to long-term strategy
Exceptional communication and storytelling skills, able to translate between executive, business, and technical audiences
Deep proficiency in SQL; experience with Python, R, or similar tools for advanced analytics and data manipulation (preferred)
Experience leading or shaping analytics, predictive modeling, or AI/ML initiatives
Forward-thinking mindset with the ability to define how data drives insights, intelligence, and business value at scale
Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) preferred
Experience with enterprise data catalogs (e.g., Atlan, Collibra, Alation) preferred
Experience with third-party enrichment data sources (e.g., Dun & Bradstreet, ZoomInfo, or similar)
Experience with company/account hierarchy experience across multiple disconnected data sources. (preferred)
Strong understanding of enterprise transactional systems (e.g., Salesforce, Oracle EBS, PIM, Marketo, Gainsight)
Deep understanding of data modeling, data transformation, pipelines, and system integration patterns
Strong knowledge of data quality, governance, and metadata frameworks at scale
Passion for data and its role in driving business and customer outcomes
Qualifications
15+ years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or related roles, with demonstrated impact on complex, enterprise initiatives
Proven experience leading cross-functional efforts and influencing outcomes across large, matrixed organizations, ideally in SaaS or technology companies with complex data ecosystems
Experience working in Agile, cross-functional delivery environments
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems, Data, or a related field; advanced degree a plus
Certifications such as CBAP or Six Sigma (preferred)
Physical Demands and Work Environment
Duties are performed in a typical office environment while sitting at a desk or computer table. Responsibilities require the ability to use a computer, communicate over the telephone, and read printed materials.

The annual base pay for this position is: $156,800.00 - $235,200.00F5 maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, geographic locations, and market conditions, as well as to reflect F5’s differing products, industries, and lines of business. The pay range referenced is as of the time of the job posting and is subject to change.
