Information Technology Senior Manager – Supplier Management

Company:

The Boeing Company

Information Digital Technology and Security is currently seeking an Information Technology Senior Manager – Supplier Management to join the team in Seattle, WA or Plano, TX.

The selected candidate will lead the operational execution and strategic design of a re-visioned Supplier Management team. This hands‑on role will manage daily Supplier Management operations — pre- and post-contract activities for strategic IDT&S suppliers and oversight of the Invoicing Community of Excellence — while also co-defining the future Supplier Management ecosystem with leaders across IDT&S and the Boeing Enterprise.

You will translate strategy into practice by establishing SRM/SPM practices, clear roles and governance, templates, and metrics aligned to an established category management framework, as well as by creating a phased roadmap that prepares the broader organization for team expansion and scale. You should be a visionary change agent who embraces modern ways of working (AI, Lean, cross- functional teaming) and can translate strategy into pragmatic, measurable plans.

The role reports to the Senior Director, IDT&S Supplier Management and is the initial hire in the overall planned team expansion. Ideal candidates have substantial supplier management or procurement experience in large, complex organizations, proven Source‑to‑Pay and contract lifecycle transformation delivery, and a data‑driven, and change‑leadership mindset. Cross functional collaboration is critical to the success of this role; demonstrated soft skills in creating collaborative relationships, influencing outcomes and resolving conflicts are essential.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Lead contract lifecycle governance, including renewals, renegotiations, and capability development

  • Institutionalize structured Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) and Strategic Performance Management (SPM) practices

  • Provide end-to-end strategic and operational oversight of the Invoicing CoE; reduce invoice cycle time, dispute rates, and financial leakage

  • Coordinate integration of complex, multi-supplier services across enterprise IT environments

  • Apply AI and automation capabilities across sourcing, spend analytics, invoicing workflows, and contract lifecycle management

  • Drive Lean process improvements across the Source-to-Pay ecosystem

  • Build and strengthen relationships with vendors, partners and stakeholders at all levels

  • Lead and integrate a global, multi-cultural team; foster a culture of accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement

Success will be demonstrated through:

  • Operational stability and scalable Supplier Management model

  • Reduced supplier and invoicing friction across the IT ecosystem

  • Improved invoice accuracy, cycle time, and SOW compliance

  • Institutionalized Supplier Relationship Management and Supplier Performance Management governance frameworks

  • Measurable cost optimization and value realization

  • Increased executive transparency into sourcing performance and risk

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher

  • 10+ years of experience with Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) sourcing and supplier collaboration and contract management

  • 10+ years of experience implementing strategy and/or process improvements within the Supplier Management domain

  • 10+ years of experience working in a cross-functional environment with all levels in the business from individual contributors to executive leadership

  • 5+ years of experience within Information Technology and Digital domains

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification

  • Experience leading enterprise-scale Source-to-Pay or Contract Lifecycle transformation initiatives

  • Demonstrated working knowledge of AI/ML applications in sourcing, spend analytics, invoice automation, or risk detection

  • Experience leading multi-layered, globally distributed organizations

  • Strong financial acumen, including business case development and cost modeling
