OVERVIEW:

The Business Development Assistant – SL supports all elements of the Product Development Process. They are responsible for the seamless execution of all processes, ensuring accuracy and adhering to the Time & Action calendar. Focuses on working with the Merchandising and Planning organizations and supporting the vision to drive new products for vertical brands. 

The ideal candidate for this role is passionate about consumer behavior, understands trends, has strong organization skills, attention to detail and communication.

Financial Management

• Support the Product Manager with sales and margin analysis to explain business performance
• Create and run weekly sales reporting in Qlik, MicroStrategy, Styles Report, Clearance, and KPI. 
• Understand key business metrics, retail math and cost process and components of cost worksheet

Line Planning

• Work with Associate and PM to understand the line list and utilize the information to input into MDM or PLM systems; Update costs and CCF’s; Support PM/Sr PM with updating the line list with changes, as needed
• Execute MDM Style Creation Process – setup PO style creation, enter details, update product attributes and color ways, receive and process style creation sheets and CCF forms
• Assist with milestone prep – pull AdHoc reports, coordinate build of milestone books with Design team, prepare hindsight samples
• Use Time & Action calendar for guidance toward upcoming deadlines
• Coordinates meetings with merchant partners through preparing agendas, meeting rooms, documentation (milestone books, reports, etc.) and recaps.

Production Management

• Track orders to ensure timely delivery through PO reporting
• Work with Vendor Relations on communications regarding shipping, exemptions, hang/fold, and UPC/PO Issues
• Attend weekly CFT meetings and responsible for keeping notes regarding necessary follow up
• Observe meetings with key partners as needed (transportation, sourcing, design, merchandising, color, eComm, etc.) to gather next steps, follow ups, recapping the meeting notes.  Bubble up thoughts on actions to take to Assoc and PM’s
• Present post milestone recaps, follow-ups, and findings on sales and competitive opportunities to Assoc, PM’s, Sr PM, Directors, etc.

Research & Analysis

• Complete a competitive analysis/comp shop and present key findings on retail/market trend to Assoc, PM, and Design in order to influence merchant team.
• Attend occasional store visits with Product Manager in order to review business.  Provide needed reporting for the visit and summarize visit notes, ensuring that info is shared back with appropriate parties. (i.e. buying, planning, visual, etc.)
