POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:

Operate a variety of scrap metal machines.  Load and Unload scrap metal from trucks using forklift.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Frequent sitting while operating shearing, bailing, and forklift equipment
• Some standing, walking, and lifting when in the yard and sorting scrap metal.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

• High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
• Ability to work well with other employees.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Basic math skills.
• Basic reading skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Experience running multiple machines.
• Ability to drive a forklift truck.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Operate shearing machines.
• Operate bailing machines.
• Sort scrap metal.
• Load and unload trucks in the yard.
• Operate forklift as necessary.
• Ensure a safe work environment and contribute to a highly engaging culture that fosters safety, continuous improvement, teamwork, and trust.
