The Medium Law Firm Senior Sales Executive is responsible for selling Westlaw, Practical Law, HighQ, CoCounsel Core and other products to the legal community within an assigned territory. This individual will leverage their expert consultative sales approach and honed professional demeanor to effectively manage complex relationships, while capitalizing on opportunities within Medium Law accounts. This is accomplished through an in-depth understanding of West products, sales techniques appropriate for a long sales cycle and the needs of the legal profession in order to bundle information solutions to meet broad firm needs.

About the Role

In this opportunity as a Senior Sales Executive, you will:

  • Develop annual revenue goals by building a comprehensive understanding of clients’ needs and objectives and identifying opportunities for increased sales volume; develop plans to achieve these goals

  • Work closely with Account Executives and other internal partners to identify potential customers, evaluate competitive situations, and propose solutions

  • Utilize relationship building techniques to establish trusted advisor status with key decision makers within each customer organization; build long term relationships that result in repeat business

  • Identify areas where existing products or services can be improved upon or enhanced

  • Ensure cross-functional collaboration between sales, product, and operations teams to deliver value added solutions to customers

  • Use data analytics tools to understand customer needs and create targeted messaging that resonates with prospects while also providing insight into customer behavior patterns

  • Negotiate contract terms and conditions that meet both parties' interests and ensure compliance with applicable laws and regulations

  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing tasks based on urgency and importance

  • Maintain accurate records related to customer interactions, negotiations, and transactions


About You

You’re a fit for the role of Senior Sales Executive if your background includes:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or equivalent experience preferred

  • Minimum five years of successful sales experience in a consultative selling environment to C-level players

  • Proven ability to build relationships and influence others at all levels of an organization

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as problem solving and negotiation abilities

  • Working knowledge of West products, experience selling into large law accounts, and strong knowledge and background in the legal profession and/or legal publishing industry would be helpful

  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

Thomson Reuters complies with local laws that require upfront disclosure of the expected pay range for a position. The target total cash compensation range varies across locations. Eligible office location(s) for this role include one or more of the following: New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and/or Irvine, CA; McLean, VA; Washington, DC. The target total cash compensation range for the role in any of those locations is $200,200 - $371,800. Chicago, IL; Frisco, TX; Houston, TX; fully remote location. For these locations and any eligible US locations not otherwise noted, including for fully remote location if applicable, the target total cash compensation range for this role is $182,000 - $338,000. This is inclusive of both base pay and any target sales incentive. Pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills and experience with consideration given to internal equity. Base pay and any target sales incentive are part of a comprehensive Total Reward program which also includes flexible and supportive benefits and other wellbeing programs.
