As a member of the Global Media Team, you will be a key member of the Global Public Relations team and will help us drive the brand forward as we look to increase our share of voice across earned communications’ vehicles. You will participate in the creation of a seasonal global strategy that supports the Go-to-Market (GTM) plan as well as drive positive brand energy during key sport and cultural moments. You will work in close partnership with Global Marketing, Sports Marketing, Product, Social and Regional PR/Marketing teams to ensure strategies and communications align with established objectives and report and track progress. 

As a critical contributor to the New Balance GTM process, the Global PR Manager will help deliver how a Challenger Brand shows up in sport & culture through a modern & disruptive energy-led approach that reflects and reinforces the New Balance brand values and Fearless Independent spirit.   


MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES: 

  • Conceive innovative communications programs across the consumer funnel 
  • Develop and manage product seeding programs for various sport categories but focusing on tennis, baseball and special projects (i.e. Olympics, Australian Open, World Cup, etc.) 
  • Execute against creative/brand brief and overall creative process with internal & external teams, leading feedback sessions and necessary alignment meetings 
  • Maintains and develops new relationships with media that reach the brand’s target audience 
  • Manage collaboration with agencies, partners, freelancers, tracking tools, etc. 
  • Create press releases, tech sheets, media briefing documents and other PR tool kit elements 
  • Interface with product managers, PR agencies and other company associates/departments to develop and execute public relations activities  

 

REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS 

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in liberal arts, PR/marketing/communications, or related field 
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working in the sports marketing/PR/communications field at an agency or brand environment is required. Experience working with publications and journalists 
  • Understands and has relationships with sports industry insiders, endemic media (tennis, baseball & major global sporting events), digital and social platforms 
  • Strong oral and written communications skills, including specific writing experience 
  • Experience in tennis and/or baseball, preferred 
  • Experience in athlete/talent management, preferred 
  • Has existing relationships within, across, and with external partners; including traditional sports editors/writers and emerging voices across sport categories 

Boston, MA Headquarters - (NB) Only Pay Range: $122,100.00 - $157,500.00 - $192,900.00 Annual (actual base pay varying based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, internal equity, geographic location, and more.)

Flexible Work Schedule
