The Role & What You Will Be Doing 

Being the external face of the company for specified therapeutic area, the Medical Affairs manager drives the business medical needs for Viatris Belgium by building and developing peer-to-peer relationships and cross-functional partnerships with HCP and other stakeholders to generate customer insights and leverage business opportunities.

  • Provide accurate and impartial medical information to support relevant departments in the therapeutic area.
  • Analyze, synthesize, and present medical scientific information in a structured way.
  • Prepare and deliver training sessions on therapeutic areas and assigned products.
  • Offer scientific support for local promotional campaigns, and review and approve promotional material for the allocated therapeutic area.
  • Contribute to marketing strategies with scientific input and collaborate on organizing medical events.
  • Collaborate with specialists in the assigned therapeutic areas for the organization of medical events.
  • Lead the development of studies from initiation until publication and evaluate initiated investigator studies in the correspondent therapeutic area.
  • Support in driving local medical team to the next level by leveraging new opportunities, including real world evidence, digital approaches or others, into the medical team. Team spirit role with focus on stronger together.
  • Define team’s objectives and targets, coach, and develop team members, ensuring alignment with overall medical affairs strategy and local priorities.

About Your Skills & Experience 

For this role, we’re looking for a candidate who has an effective combination of the following qualifications, skills and experiences: 

  • Medical background with 5 years of solid experience in Medical Affairs, preferably in Cardiology and/or Urology
  • General knowledge of pharmaceutical industry, R&D is a plus
  • NL/FR/EN: good working proficiency

  • Strong Organizational Skills, ability to be flexible and prioritize multiple demands
  • Demonstration of seniority, credibility, impact and influence
  • Excellent Communication and Presentation Skills (oral & written)
  • Able to function a fastmoving multinational/matrix environment
  • Knowledge of local regulations in promotional conduct, safety reporting and deep understanding of the local health environment including its structure, policy, reimbursement processes, key members and scientific societies.
  • Driven by Learning & Personal Development (to risk management, authorizations as Responsible Person for Medical Information & Promotion
