The Job:

The Technical Advisor plays a crucial role in supporting our internal and external customers by ensuring they receive high-quality technical guidance and training on our flat roofing solutions. This role requires a deep understanding of products, installation practices, industry standards and building codes to effectively assist customers, roofers, and internal stakeholders.

Success in this position involves technical expertise, strong communication skills, and the ability to educate and support customers and partners. The Technical Advisor will also contribute to product development, complaint resolution, and compliance with industry regulations.

You will be working out from our Swedish HQ in Malmö. The role requires some travelling in Sweden. 

Your Main Tasks:

Technical Expertise & Customer Support:

  • Serve as an expert on Icopal’s flat roofing solutions, ensuring proper installation practices and adherence to working conditions.

  • Provide technical support to the sales team, customer service, marketing and external stakeholders, offering guidance on product applications and troubleshooting.

  • Offer technical advice to roofers, architects, and internal teams, assisting with specification, product selection,  Installation inquiries and adherence to building codes.

  • Handle technical complaints and guarantees.

Training & Knowledge Sharing:

  • Lead on-site and in-house training sessions for roofers, customers, and internal teams, ensuring they understand correct installation techniques and product benefits.

  • Conduct customer product and system application training, supporting the transition from product-based to system-based solutions.

  • Facilitate internal training programs for sales representatives and other relevant teams.

Quality Assurance & Site Inspections:

  • Perform on-site assessments to evaluate installation quality and ensure adherence to best practices.

  • Oversee installation guarantees, verifying correct implementation before approval.

  • Claim handling

Product Development & Industry Engagement:

  • Participate in development projects and product testing, contributing to innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Engage in technical forums and industry committees, helping to shape industry standards and best practices.

Your Experience:

Ideally, you hold a university technical degree or any relevant education from the building and construction sector is highly beneficial. 

Furthermore, we believe you have several years of practical experience from the construction industry as a craftsman. It is highly beneficial having been working as a roofer. You also have solid experience of technical support/service, and having experience of training others is beneficial.

You are digitally savvy, and you are fluent in Swedish as well as strong skills in English.

  • Motivation should come from helping and supporting others giving good technical service 

  • Problemsolver and hands-on approach

  • Ability to develop a deep understanding of customer and user needs.
