Job Description:

Role Summary/Purpose:

AVP, Lifestyle Analytics - JCrew is responsible for development of analytical solutions for the JCrew portfolio. This will involve developing deeper understanding of products/data/processes and working closely with cross functional stakeholders to use tested analytical methods/tools and build solutions that can be scaled across the client.

Occasionally you will be required to commute or travel for in person engagement activities such as business or team meetings, training and culture events. 

*Field Sales and some Commercial team roles may have varied location requirements based upon partner obligations or preferences. 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Partner with client & cross functional teams to develop analytics reporting, measurement and diagnostics frameworks needed for the portfolio initiatives.

  • Develop deeper understanding of business metrics, products and processes. Provide data driven insights to cross functional stakeholders on business trends. Present program insights to cross functional leadership.

  • Develop scalable analytical solutions to measure impact marketing campaigns as needed. Manage campaign impacts repository and work as guide post for future campaign decisions

  • Use data analytics/statistical methods to develop marketing campaign optimization tools and influence stakeholders by developing business cases on the impact of tools

  • Run program diagnostics to identify key drivers of business metrics. Translate diagnostic learnings into business impact stories and partner with cross functional stakeholders to design business actions to realize or mitigate impact

  • Collaborate with cross portfolio analytic teams and bring Synchrony analytics best practices to use in the Lifestyle platform

  • Develop project review rhythm with key stakeholders. Communicate analytic plans, provide transparency on delivery timelines and maintain quality project delivery process

  • Participate in cross functional analytics projects, business meetings and present to clients as needed.

  • Present analytical stories to stakeholder and senior leaders as needed

  • Work on any adhoc analytical/reporting/data projects as needed

  • Perform other duties and/or special projects as assigned.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, OR in lieu of degree, high school diploma and 2+ years of progressive work experience in credit card analytics OR retail analytics

  • 2+ years of analytics experience utilizing SAS, SQL, or other analytic tools like Python to perform data mining and complex analyses

  • Ability and flexibility to travel for business as required

Desired Characteristics:

  • Analytics experience within Credit card or retail industry experience is strongly preferred

  • Experience with modeling/forecasting, strong understanding of targeting and segmentation, and exposure to retail analytic tools

  • Solid understanding of credit card industry financial P&L drivers and key sensitivities, with business performance reporting experience

  • Strong presenter to all levels of management with an ability to tell the story of data, what is important, and why

  • Experienced in interacting with senior level executives

  • Strong project management, communications, multi-tasking, relationship management and influencing skills and the ability to work independently are critical to success.

  • Very strong technical skills for data manipulation and analysis

  • Advanced degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, or another quantitative field preferred

  • Proficient with Python, R, or data visualization tools such as Tableau

  • Advanced skills using Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to synthesize/analyze complex and diverse information and to develop and recommend strategies and communicate them clearly

  • Ability to perform ad-hoc analysis, glean and form business insights under aggressive timelines

  • Demonstrated ability to manage complexity/ambiguity and multiple initiatives

Grade/Level: 10

                                                      

The salary range for this position is 100,000.00 - 170,000.00 USD Annual and is eligible for an annual bonus based on individual and company performance.

                                                      

Actual compensation offered within the posted salary range will be based upon work experience, skill level or knowledge.

Salaries are adjusted according to market in CA, NY Metro and Seattle.

Eligibility Requirements:

  • You must be 18 years or older

  • You must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • You must be willing to take a drug test, submit to a background investigation and submit fingerprints as part of the onboarding process

  • You must be able to satisfy the requirements of Section 19 of the Federal Deposit Insurance Act.

  • New hires (Level 4-7) must have 9 months of continuous service with the company before they are eligible to post on other roles.  Once this new hire time in position requirement is met, the associate will have a minimum 6 months’ time in position before they can post for future non-exempt roles.  Employees, level 8 or greater, must have at least 18 months’ time in position before they can post.  All internal employees must consistently meet performance expectations and have approval from your manager to post (or the approval of your manager and HR if you don’t meet the time in position or performance expectations).
