Join NAVSEA 03S as an SAP ABAP Developer for the Navy Maintenance and Modernization Enterprise Solution (NMMES). In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and enhancing SAP applications across multiple modules to support critical naval ship and submarine maintenance operations worldwide.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain custom ABAP programs, reports, interfaces, and enhancements across various SAP modules.
  • Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into efficient ABAP solutions.
  • Develop and optimize SAP ABAP objects including reports, ALV reports, SmartForms, Adobe Forms, BAPIs, User Exits, and Enhancements.
  • Create and maintain interfaces between SAP and legacy systems within the NMMES ecosystem.
  • Implement SAP ABAP best practices and design patterns to ensure high-quality, maintainable code.
  • Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to junior ABAP developers.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in existing ABAP programs.
  • Collaborate with functional teams to understand business processes and implement appropriate technical solutions.
  • Participate in the full software development lifecycle, from requirements gathering to testing and deployment.
  • Ensure developed solutions comply with DoD/Navy cybersecurity requirements and SAP security standards.
  • Stay current with the latest SAP technologies and ABAP development techniques, recommending improvements to existing processes and applications.
  • Document all development work, including technical specifications and user guides.


Qualifications:
Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in SAP ABAP development
  • Strong proficiency in core ABAP programming, including OO ABAP
  • Experience with SAP Netweaver and ABAP Workbench
  • Expertise in developing complex reports, interfaces, conversions, and enhancements (RICE)
  • Familiarity with SAP modules such as FI, CO, MM, SD, and HCM
  • Experience with SAP HANA and S/4HANA development
  • Knowledge of Web Dynpro ABAP and Fiori development
  • Proficiency in SQL and database concepts
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills


Desired:

  • SAP ABAP certification
  • Experience working with DoD/Navy programs or similar complex government IT systems
  • Knowledge of naval maintenance and modernization processes
  • Familiarity with Agile/SAFe development methodologies
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git, SVN)
  • Understanding of SAP Solution Manager and SAP transport management
  • Knowledge of SAP PI/PO for interface development
  • Experience with SAP workflow development
  • Familiarity with SAP BW/BI reporting tools
  • Understanding of DoD cybersecurity requirements and their application in SAP development

The proposed salary range for this position is:

$95,500-$210,100
