Job Description Summary:

We are establishing a Greenfield manufacturing facility in Mexico. This will be the flagship facility in line with Industry 4.0 with state-of-the-art advanced automation and digitization. To deliver this, we are hiring a highly competent and motivated Manufacturing Engineer who will support the design and implementation of the new production processes & facility, as well as act as the local SME for startup, stabilization, and ongoing operations.

The Manufacturing Manager will support the design, procurement, installation, and start-up of the production workstream for the new facility.  The design will be done in partnership with multi-functional team including global IT, external consultants, and with global subject matter experts. Upon completion of the new facility, the role will support ongoing improvements, maintenance, and process changes for the site.  The role will act as the technical SME ensuring production system and physical process match business needs.

 

 

Responsibilities 

 

Manufacturing Design & Automation 

·       Execute Concept, Basic, and Detailed Design phases for manufacturing systems in line with Project Gravity’s master plan 

·       Implement scalable, modular automated solutions (Filling, Packing, Mixing, Blending, Process Lines) to optimize production efficiency 

·       Integrate AI-driven process monitoring, predictive maintenance, and quality control systems 

·       Ensure automation systems meet User Requirements Specifications (URS), TPM characteristics, and energy-efficient sustainable practices 

·       Utilize software tools such as AutoCAD, P&ID software, simulation tools, and SAP ME/MII to produce accurate designs and maintain digital twin documentation 

Operations & System Management 

·       Lead installation, commissioning, and start-up of manufacturing systems, supporting phased stabilization. 

·       Monitor system performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement improvements aligned with the Greenfield Project KPIs (OEE, throughput, zero-touch operations). 

·       Ensure compliance with safety regulations and minimize operational risks throughout Manufacturing operations. 

Documentation & Reporting 

·       Prepare and maintain engineering documentation, performance reports, dashboards, and user manuals for Manufacturing staff. 

·       Track progress and communicate updates to the Project Director and key stakeholders. 

Team & Stakeholder Management 

·       Integrate, coach, and develop local Manufacturing and design teams. 

·       Collaborate with Greenfield Project multi-functional teams, external consultants, and vendors. 

·       Act as the subject matter expert (SME) for Manufacturing operations within the Greenfield Project rollout plan.

 

Qualifications & Requirements 

Experience:

·       5 years in Manufacturing operations/engineering 

·       Proven experience in Manufacturing process design and automation system implementation 

·       Experience with CAPEX projects and vendor management 

·       Experience in Greenfield project and Greenfield start-up 

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Chemical Engineering; master’s degree preferred 

Certifications:  

·       Professional Engineering certification preferred 

·       Project Management, Lean, Six Sigma, or Automation-related certifications a plus 

Technical Knowledge:

·       Strong understanding of manufacturing equipment, tools, and indirect materials 

·       Proficiency in automation technologies (Filling, Packing, Mixing, Blending lines) and SAP MII 

·       Knowledge of safety regulations, process optimization, and quality standards 

Skills: 

·       Project management, system design, process improvement, and operational troubleshooting 

·       Excellent communication, teamwork, coaching, and continuous learning abilities 

·       Analytical and problem-solving capabilities with detail-oriented mindset 

Language: Intermediate to advanced English proficiency (written and spoken). 

IT Skills: Proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and SAP procurement system.

Location 

·       The primary work location is Mexico, with minimal travel (up to 20% under normal conditions). 

·       Occasional visits to concentrate plants, bottling operations, or training centers may be required.
