Identify, assess, and manage E&S related risks within 1st Line Wealth Management by integrating E&S considerations into Wealth Management practices and processes, ensuring alignment with our business and regulatory expectations
- Develop and implement a 1LOD E&S risk framework which includes building strong processes and controls for all applicable Wealth Management Business Units
- Conduct regular E&S risk assessments across Wealth Management products and services identifying potential risks and opportunities
- Develop and execute a testing strategy for E&S controls to assess their effectiveness and compliance
- Provide training and resources for Wealth Management teams to enhance their understanding of E&S requirements
- Build a reporting framework and regularly report E&S risks to senior management and regulators, ensuring transparency and accountability
- Ensure adherence to relevant E&S regulations, standards, and best practices in Wealth Management
- Partner with internal teams to integrate E&S considerations into business operations and decision-making processes
- Serve as a subject matter expert on E&S risk topics for 1LOD Wealth Management .
Qualifications:
- 7+ years of ESG related experience demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, education
- 3+ years of experience leading an ESG or Sustainability organization
- Experience working in Financial Services or another heavily regulated environment
- Excellent communicator with ability to adapt and simplify messaging for various audiences and levels in the organization
- History of strong horizontal relationship development and ability to build cross-functional influence
- Comfortable with ambiguity in an evolving ESG landscape
- Strong interpersonal skills including collaboration and resolution management including managing complex and sensitive issues
- Ability to make decisions, execute, and lead independently
- Exceptional written and oral communication
- Analytic and conceptual skills with ability to analyze data and develop key insights. Highly organized with a proven ability to manage critical complex initiatives across many different stakeholders and partners
- Ability to work in a fast paced, intense, ambiguous environment
- Foster respect and support of senior executives and various stakeholders both internal and external
- Ability to develop tools and methods to increase transparency in the group's risk taking activities

Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group’s expected target for the first year in this position.
