The Production Planner II is responsible for developing, maintaining, and executing production schedules to support on-time delivery and inventory optimization. This role works cross-functionally with Procurement, Manufacturing, Engineering, and Program Management to manage material availability, mitigate shortages, and ensure alignment between demand and supply within the ERP system.

Key Responsibilities (P2 Level)

            Create and maintain production schedules in ERP (MRP-driven environment)
            Monitor material shortages and drive resolution with Procurement
            Review and release planned/production orders
            Support demand review and schedule adjustments
            Identify risks impacting on-time delivery and escalate as needed
            Analyze planning data and recommend corrective actions
            Participate in daily production or material status meetings

Required Qualifications

            Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations Management, or related field (or equivalent experience)
            2–5 years of production planning, materials planning, or supply chain experience in a manufacturing environment
            Experience working in an ERP/MRP system (Infor, SAP, Oracle, or similar)
            Strong understanding of MRP, BOM structures, lead times, and capacity constraints
            Ability to analyze shortages and drive resolution with cross-functional teams
            Proficient in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, lookups, basic data analysis)
            Strong organizational and time-management skills
            Effective written and verbal communication skills
            Ability to work independently while escalating risks appropriately

Desired Qualifications

            Experience in a government contracting or DPAS-rated production environment
            Experience supporting multi-site or multi-program planning
            Knowledge of SIOP/S&OP processes
            APICS/ASCM certification (CPIM or CSCP)
            Experience supporting new product introduction (NPI)
            Experience using Power BI or other reporting/dashboard tools
            Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional shortage mitigation discussions
            Continuous improvement mindset (Lean, process improvement exposure)

Pay Range: There are a host of factors that can influence final salary including, but not limited to, geographic location, Federal Government contract labor categories and contract wage rates, relevant prior work experience, specific skills and competencies, education, and certifications. The proposed salary range for this position is:

$49,200 - $100,900
