Senior Accountant to ZEISS Vision Care Nordics

We are now looking for a Senior Accountant with strong analytical skills and a passion for financial excellence and continuous improvement to join our office in Malmö.

About the Position

As a Senior Accountant, you will hold responsibility for core accounting operations and financial control for ZEISS Vision Care Nordics. You will work closely with the local Nordic finance team as well as the shared service center in Poland, ensuring accurate reporting, compliance, and high-quality financial insights that support strategic decision-making. The role requires a high degree of independence and ownership.

Main Responsibilities

• Ensure accurate and timely month-end and year-end closing according to local GAAP and ZEISS’ global accounting standards (IFRS).
• Prepare, review, and reconcile general ledger accounts and financial statements.
• Manage VAT reporting and ensuring compliance with relevant tax laws and regulations.
• Take ownership as the key point of contact for the Shared Service Center in Poland, collaborating closely with the GL, AP, and AR teams.
• Manage year-end tax provisions, including deferred tax calculations and reconciliations as well as updating the transfer pricing documentation.  
• Take ownership of invoice-related inquiries to ensure timely customer support.  
• Drive and take ownership of the end-to-end financial statement audit process.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes with detailed financial analysis.
• Prepare financial reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and management.
• Support the payroll process in Sweden and Denmark.  
• Provide support in cross-functional initiatives and IT implementation projects.
• Collaborate closely with the Nordic finance team, as well as local management, sales, and operations.

You will be part of the Nordic Finance team and report to the Head of Finance & HR Nordics.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum 5 years of experience from a similar role, preferably as Senior Accountant, Accountant, or Financial Controller.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles, reporting standards, and financial compliance.
• Experience working with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
