Job Description Summary:

At PayPal Venmo, we build products that make payments easy. Our payments are so easy that they fade into the background and make entirely new kinds of interactions possible. From splitting rent with roommates to paying a friend to say “thank you”, the stories and experiences of our users’ payments are highlighted and shared in our feed. As a Customer Solutions Teammate for Purchase Support, you will be responsible for providing world class customer support and guidance to both our internal and external customers. Extensive business area knowledge in credit card handling is required to enable review, research, and execution of actions to resolve customer inquiries.

We are looking for Subject Matter Experts who knows our product and policies inside and out. Someone who loves explaining the “why” behind what we do and is always looking for ways to deliver better customer experiences to our users. Equally as important as your subject-matter-expertise is your ability to stay calm regardless of the situation. This person will provide an empathetic ear, really getting to the root of the problem, providing solid answers and next steps to our most frustrated users. Being a customer champion, advocating on behalf of our users and supporting our frontline support team to deliver exceptionally is essential in this role. It is recommended that this Teammate also keeps updated on Venmo products, Wiki policies, and procedures. Duties require independent judgment, analytic thinking, detail orientation, time management, self-direction, and ability to creatively add a spark of fun! Ability to communicate effectively via both spoken and written communication by utilizing proper grammar and punctuation skills.

Job Description:

  • As a Customer Solutions Specialist, you will serve as the first point of contact for customers, understanding and addressing their inquiries, issues, and providing effective resolutions. Your role includes promoting the services and products offered by Venmo to enhance customer experience and satisfaction. Collaboration with cross-functional teams and various departments will be essential to improve internal processes and ensure a seamless customer support experience. Continuous learning and staying updated on product knowledge and industry trends are vital aspects of this position to deliver exceptional customer service.
  • Provide world-class customer service, by helping to resolve our customer’s queries in real-time or work with the most relevant PayPal department so they can be dealt with appropriately  
  • Field inbound support calls, live chats, and emails from users about our product offerings. Maintain Venmo/PayPal standards for Production, Quality, and Customer Satisfaction as communicated by the business.
  • Educate our customers on how to use Venmo to send and receive payments. Proactively recommend and educate the customer about features and benefits of products in order to improve their satisfaction and deepen their relationship with Venmo. As a Teammate, you will have to keep updated and educated on account features that are available to all.
  • Provide consistent feedback regarding overall customer satisfaction, tools and processes, and collaborate with leadership regarding necessary changes and updates, including product related policies and procedures, upgrades, and customer care issues.
  • Proactively communicate with operational support departments in identifying and resolving issues.

Requirements:

  • 3+ years of relevant work experience in the Financial Services field.
  • Related experience as a Subject Matter Expert in credit card services.
  • Passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences and serving as a role model for support agents
