Role purpose

Job Opportunity: Development Operations Manager

We’re seeking a proactive Development Operations professional to support the delivery of major projects and ensure our assets operate to best practice standards. In this role, you’ll shape design requirements, influence project outcomes, and partner across the business to drive operational excellence.

Role Purpose

Co-ordinates across the enterprise to develop design and operational standards, specifications and best practices for all capital investments across the portfolio. Develops operating processes and guardrails to ensure the delivery of all projects in line with standards and works as a key customer for the development team ensuring that detailed designs align to the standards and are successfully delivered to meet the expectations of the operations team. The role will also ensure consistency in the delivery of outgoings feasibilities and development completion opening processes.

What you'll do

  • Maintain and evolve the Vicinity Project Design Requirements (PDR) to reflect leading operational standards.
  • Act as the operational voice throughout development concept design, detailed design, construction, delivery, and handover.
  • Lead operational feasibility assessments for development and acquisition projects.
  • Partner with Tenant Delivery and Minor Projects teams to enable safe, efficient works within live centres.
  • Oversee the systems, processes, and documentation that support ongoing asset operations, including as‑builts, O&Ms, and warranties.

What you’ll bring

  • Experience in retail operations management and exposure to major projects in a national portfolio.
  • Strong technical knowledge of building operations, legislation, and health & safety.
  • Ability to build influential relationships and collaborate across multi‑disciplinary teams.
  • Excellent reporting, budgeting, communication, and leadership capability.
