The Medical Genetics and Biochemical Genetics Program at Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital is seeking a board certified / board eligible Biochemical Genetics physician to join their rapidly growing program.  The clinical position offers an exciting opportunity for the physician to play an important role in the continued growth of the program. The provider will be responsible, along with a multi-disciplinary team, for care of pediatric and adult patients with known or suspected complex genetic disorders and inborn errors of metabolism.  The physician will be quality and safety driven in their care of the acute inpatient and outpatient population.

Practice Description:

The physicians and APPs are members of The Corewell Health Medical Group, a growing, physician-led, multispecialty practice.  The genetics division includes a team of highly specialized biochemical and medical genetics physicians (7) and nurse practitioner (1), dietitians (3), genetic counselors (21), genetic counseling assistants (4), nurses, medical assistants, and other support staff. The group is dedicated to supporting the mission of Helen DeVos Children’s Hospital including education, clinical services, research and other scholarly activity, and advocacy.

HDVCH is a state-of-the-art, globally integrated, 234-bed free standing dedicated children’s hospital located on the main campus of Spectrum Health.  Annually, there are 8760 inpatient and 124,600 ambulatory visits, as well as over 55,185 children seen in the Pediatric Emergency Department (Level 1 Trauma rated).  HDVCH also has one of the nation’s largest NICU’s (108-beds).

Qualifications:

  • Board eligible or board certified in Biochemical Genetics

  • Physician License (MD)/Osteopathic Physician (DO)

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
