As a Clinical Pharmacist in our Main Campus Inpatient Pharmacy, you will support a wide range of care areas—including 60 nursing units, 80 operating rooms, 4 PACUs and 10 cath labs—to ensure patients receive medications accurately, safely and on time. You will provide expert selection, dosing, administration and dispensing of medications while contributing to the high-quality treatments patients rely on. This role offers exceptional exposure to complex clinical environments, strong educational and professional development opportunities, and collaboration with a close-knit Emergency Medicine Clinical Specialist team of eight pharmacists and a clinical coordinator, who primarily serve the ED and provide cross-coverage as needed. 

A caregiver in this role will work Monday through Friday with rotating shifts every 2 weeks from 6:00am to 3:00pm, and 2:00pm to 10:30pm.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:  

  • Provide safe, efficient, patient-centered, evidence-based medication services. 
  • Verify medication orders and/or dispenses medications accurately according to state and federal regulations.  
  • Document services in a complete, accurate and timely manner. 
  • Actively contribute to medication safety initiatives. 
  • Ensure all pharmacy operations are in compliance with national accreditation standards. 
  • Directs staff appropriately to provide safe and efficient care and maintain professional working relationships with all caregivers. 
  • Educate and train students, residents, other caregivers and/or patients.  

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:  

  • PharmD or Bachelor’s of Science in Pharmacy from an accredited college of Pharmacy 
  • Current State licensure as a Registered Pharmacist (RPh) or eligible for reciprocation in current state within 90 days of hire 
  • Completion of a Post-Graduate Year 1 Residency (PGY1), fellowship or relevant post-graduate pharmacy experience 

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include: 

  • Board Certification  

Physical Requirements:

  • Typical physical demands include ability to perform the job while standing and walking for prolonged times, approximately 75% of shift and continuously for extended periods of time. 
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to perform computer and dispensing functions of the job; ability to lift up to 30 lbs.
  • Position often includes reaching, stretching, stooping, climbing steps and sitting.
  • Must have normal or corrected vision.
  • Must have ability to clearly communicate verbally by phone or in person

Personal Protective Equipment:

  • Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
