Data Specialist COMET - Rx


 

What you will be doing:

This role is responsible for the processing and overall maintenance of Pharmacy contract information within Premier's contract management (COMET) and Supply Chain Advisor (SCA) applications. This role will perform analysis on all data to ascertain if it is correct prior to releasing to the membership. When data issues occur, the Specialist will need to investigate and resolve as well as determine the source of the issue and provide recommendations on process improvements to prevent future issues. The person will apply their knowledge of Premier contracts, terms and conditions, tier structures, and attributes of contract information to maintain data integrity of Premier’s Pharmacy agreements. This position is also responsible for reporting on contract change impacts, providing SOX audit support, curating data files for upload into COMET, validating contract change requests and activations, product master maintenance, and providing support to the Pharmacy Contracting teams as needed to support the day-to-day operations. This role may also perform the same duties for the Med/Surg portfolio of contracts to support workload balance as needed. This position will collaborate with the Pharmacy and Med/Surg Contracting teams, Contract Launch, and others as necessary to ensure that appropriate data contract guidelines are being met

Key Responsibilities

Responsibility #1– 70%

  • Develop and run a variety of QA queries and do file analysis to ascertain integrity of data prior to loading into system.  Investigate questionable data; interpret and analyze large data sets with multiple pricing tiers (from 1 to up to >100 in some cases)
  • Report issues and resolutions to the contracting teams. Analyze root cause of data errors, identify repeat errors, and inform sourcing/contract management teams.  Make suggestions as to what can be done to resolve the errors and influence future process improvement initiatives of incoming data.
  • Pharmacy contract maintenance using COMET; ensuring accurate contract header and attribute setup and accurate reflection in downstream systems.
  • Loading and maintenance of pricing, fees, rebates, award status, failure to supply, charge back IDs, and tier pricing programs.
  • Conduct price audits of Supplier and Wholesaler price files and resolve discrepancies within COMET.
  • Problem solving data issues. Use learned contract system and process knowledge to apply corrective action that ensures correct outcomes within downstream reporting.
  • Product maintenance of the Product Item Master (PIM) database. Update product specific attributes where necessary.
  • Providing various reports to inform pharmacy team of contract changes, number of amendments completed, current pricing, contract load failures, various contract specifics, etc.

Responsibility #2 – 20%

  • Assists pharmacy contract team to correctly reflect contract intent within the data applications.
  • Provide documentation to support SOX audit initiatives and work with pharmacy staff to resolve audit issues.
  • Supports pharmacy leadership by completing ad hoc reports upon request; supports Pharmacy initiatives as needed.

Responsibility #3 – 10%

  • Resolving sales data submission errors and processing corrections within the COMET application.  Review, analyze and interpret sales data coming in from suppliers; issue resolution and communication with Data Acquisition team
  • Provide support to teams through the updating and maintenance of key databases that support report outcomes such as: Flat File Creation, Contract Assignment, Pharmacy Crash Cart, etc.
  • Implement industry changes into Premier systems where appropriate (WAC, product attribute changes, Chargeback IDs, etc.).

Premier’s compensation philosophy is to ensure that compensation is reasonable, equitable, and competitive in order to attract and retain talented and highly skilled employees. Premier’s internal salary range for this role is $52,000 - $78,000. Final salary is dependent upon several market factors including, but not limited to, departmental budgets, internal equity, education, unique skills/experience, and geographic location. Premier utilizes a wide-range salary structure to allow base salary flexibility within our ranges.
