Job Title: Cardiac Sonographer

SUMMARY:
Performs medically prescribed diagnostic echocardiographic procedures to assess cardiac structures and hemodynamics, utilizing various modes and techniques, including but not limited to 2-dimensional, M-Mode, color flow, pulse wave, and continuous wave Doppler, in accordance with accepted protocols.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Able to appropriately determine the clinical question being addressed:
Reviews the patient's chart and history
Refers to the physician, as needed
Utilizes imaging protocols established by the American Society of Echocardiography, ICAEL Echo Standards.
Enters patient demographics on the ultrasound machine.
Utilizes proper patient positioning techniques to obtain optimal image
Other duties as assigned
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
A Diagnostic Medical Sonographer Certificate OR Bachelor's Degree in Ultrasound is required.
Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) from the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS)
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
Prior Sonographer experience preferred.

M - Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects; Requires frequent walking, standing or squatting.For disease specific care programs refer to the program specific requirements of the department for further specifications on experience and educational expectations, including continuing education requirements.
