Job summary:

The Affiliate Technical Manager will be responsible for managing/optimizing the technical aspects of affiliate marketing program, providing technical support and expertise to our affiliate network and agency partners, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance of our affiliate program. This role involves troubleshooting technical issues, assisting with the setup and configuration of affiliate tools, and providing ongoing technical assistance to enhance the affiliate experience.The ideal candidate will possess strong technical skills, excellent problem-solving abilities, and a deep understanding of affiliate marketing dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Affiliate Network and Agency Partnership:

  • Develop and maintain high level relationship with affiliate networks and agencies.
  •  Schedule regular updates and interaction with top networks and agencies.
  •  Own, take action and address client needs and opportunities.

2.Technical Support:

  • Provide technical assistance to affiliate network and agency partners via email, phone, and chat.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to the affiliate program, including attribution, tracking, reporting, and integration problems.
  • Work closely with networks and agency affiliate partners to understand their technical needs and provide appropriate solutions.

3. Tracking and integration:

  • Ensure merchants integration of approved attribution, proper tracking codes, APIs, Google Analytics and other technical components required for the affiliate program.
  • Provide detailed instructions and support for integrating affiliate marketing tools and platforms.
  • Monitor and review merchant tiers, unique tracking rules and exclusions
  • Conduct technical reviews of affiliate websites and systems to ensure proper integration and functionality.

4. System Maintenance:

  • Monitor the performance of affiliate tracking systems and ensure they are functioning correctly.
  • Collaborate with the IT and product development teams to address and resolve any system issues or bugs.
  • Perform regular audits of affiliate systems to ensure data accuracy and integrity.

5. Training and Documentation:

  • Create and maintain technical documentation
  • Train other team members as required
     

Requirements:

  • Bachelors Degree in Information Technology or Information Management Services Required
  • Masters Degree preferred

At the time of posting, Rakuten expects the base compensation for this role to be within the range shown below. Individual compensation will vary based on job-related factors, including the skills, qualifications, and experience of the successful candidate as well as business need and geographic location. The successful applicant for this role will be eligible for discretionary bonus, health, vision, dental insurance, 401k matching, PTO, Volunteer Time Off (VTO), and other employee benefits as the company implements.
