Northrop Grumman Space Systems (NGSP) seeks to find an experienced Software Engineer/SW Developer familiar with SV mission management, feasibility modeling in the Payload and Ground Systems Division Engineering organization supporting Integrated National Systems (INS) Business Unit (BU) to support a Ground program.
This position may be located at our Morrisville, NC, Fairfax, VA, or Linthicum, MD sites.
The successful candidate will have Software development experience, with the ability to digest changes and synthesize them into working designs, generate efficient code according to the specifications, and adapt to changes as necessary that are driven by bugs or specification updates or the customer. The candidate is expected to operate independently with little oversight in a dynamic environment, and to be highly self-motivated, reporting information to leads and the customer. The individual is expected to handle diverse assignments with efficiency, finding unique solutions and working in a very collaborative and fast-paced environment that continues to grow.
This requisition may be filled at either a level 3 (Principal) or a level 4 (Sr Principal), depending on the candidate’s experience as laid out in the basic qualifications detailed below as well as the interview assessment.
Basic Qualifications:
-Principal (Level 3): A Bachelor's Degree +5 years of related experience; a Master's degree +3 years of related experience; a PhD; or 9 years of related experience in lieu of degree
-Sr. Principal (Level 4): A Bachelor's Degree +8 years of related experience; a Master's degree +6 years of related experience; a PhD +3 years of related experience; or 12 years of related experience in lieu of degree
- Active TS/SCI at time of application and willingness to sit for a CI poly
-Familiar with Java, C++, and Python (or similar scripting language) in a cloud environment
-Familiar with Agile development methodologies
-Familiar with Automated testing
-Understanding of software testing principles and methodologies
-Experienced working with a geographically distributed team
Preferred Qualifications
-Proficient with Python, Perl, Rust, Docker/Kubernetes, Cloud, DevOps, CICD
-Proficient with Atlassian tools (i.e.: Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket)
-Familiar with Kubernetes cluster software deployment
-Experience with Automated test tools (for example: Cucumber, Behave, Eggplant, Selenium, or Cypress)
-Experienced developing software for complex near real-time ground systems in mission domain
Salary Range: $97,500.00 - $160,900.00Salary Range 2: $121,000.00 - $199,600.00The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
