The team marries technology with creativity to build world-class products, enhance storytelling, and drive velocity, innovation, and scalability for our businesses. We are Storytellers and Innovators. Creators and Builders. Entertainers and Engineers. We work with every part of The Walt Disney Company’s media portfolio to advance the technological foundation and consumer media touch points serving millions of people around the world.
Here are a few reasons why we think you’d love working here:
- Building the future of Disney’s media: Our Technologists are designing and building the products and platforms that will power our media, advertising, and distribution businesses for years to come.
- Reach, Scale & Impact: More than ever, Disney’s technology and products serve as a signature doorway for fans' connections with the company’s brands and stories. Disney+. Hulu. ESPN. ABC. ABC News…and many more. These products and brands – and the unmatched stories, storytellers, and events they carry – matter to millions of people globally.
- Innovation: We develop and implement groundbreaking products and techniques that shape industry norms, and solve complex and distinctive technical problems.
Role Overview
We’re hiring Project/Program Managers—including Technical Program Managers—across all experience levels (individual contributor and leadership roles) to plan, orchestrate, and deliver complex, cross‑functional initiatives that span engineering, product, and operations. You will own program structure and schedules, drive scope and risk management, and enable predictable delivery with clear communication to stakeholders at every level. Depending on level, you may run a single workstream, manage multi‑team programs across DEEP&T, or set delivery practices and mentor PM/TPM peers.
*Throughout the recruitment process we will evaluate your skills and experience to determine level placement
Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver programs end‑to‑end: establish program structure, milestones, and delivery plans; coordinate cross‑team dependencies to meet scope, schedule, and quality goals.
- Run Agile/iterative delivery at scale: facilitate ceremonies, optimize team workflows, and apply Agile/Scrum or hybrid approaches appropriate to the work and risk profile.
- Surface and manage risk: proactively identify risks, issues, and blockers; drive mitigation/decision paths; escalate crisply with data and options.
- Align stakeholders and communicate clearly: provide transparent status across technical and business audiences; summarize program health, trade‑offs, and next steps for leadership.
- Measure what matters: define and report delivery metrics (predictability, throughput, quality) to inform planning and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate complex forums: lead workshops, cross‑org planning, and decision sessions; ensure participation, clarity of outcomes, and documented actions.
- Partner on governance and operations: coordinate with Business Operations on portfolio tracking, capital/resource planning, incident/process management, and organizational rhythms.
- Drive adoption of standards: promote SDLC best practices, delivery tooling, documentation, and program hygiene (RAIDs, roadmaps, change control).
- (Senior/Lead) Provide program leadership across multiple teams; mentor PM/TPM talent; influence strategy and operating models.
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
- Program delivery expertise with experience coordinating cross‑functional engineering/product work and driving predictable outcomes.
- Fluency in Agile/Scrum (and comfort with hybrid/Waterfall where appropriate); strong facilitation of ceremonies and working sessions.
- Risk, dependency, and change management skills; ability to translate ambiguity into clear plans and decisions.
- Executive‑ready communication—concise, data‑driven status, and ability to explain technical topics to non‑technical audiences.
- Tooling familiarity with modern delivery stacks (e.g., Jira/Confluence, Airtable/Smartsheet, Microsoft 365); disciplined documentation and reporting.
- Stakeholder influence and collaboration across engineering, product, design, data, and operations; comfort facilitating decisions without direct authority.
- Foundational technical acumen to discuss architecture, interfaces, dependencies, and risks with engineering partners.
