POSITION SUMMARY
The Senior Data Analyst serves as a trusted analytics partner and strategic advisor to business and technology leaders. This role is responsible for transforming complex data into actionable insights that drive enterprise‑wide decision‑making, operational efficiency, and measurable business outcomes.
Operating with a high degree of autonomy, the Senior Data Analyst leads advanced analytics initiatives, defines analytical approaches, and influences decision‑making through insight, storytelling, and credibility. The Senior Data Analyst focuses on meaning, interpretation, and impact—ensuring data is used effectively to solve business problems.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Advanced Analytics & Insight Leadership
Lead complex analytical efforts to identify trends, risks, opportunities, and root causes across the business.
Apply advanced analytical techniques to translate data into insights that inform strategic and operational decisions.
Proactively identify opportunities where data can improve business performance or efficiency.
Executive Reporting & Data Storytelling
Design and maintain advanced dashboards, reports, and visualizations (e.g., Power BI) that support leadership decision‑making.
Translate analytical findings into clear, compelling narratives tailored to executive and non‑technical audiences.
Present insights, recommendations, and outcomes to senior and cross‑functional stakeholders.
Solution Design & Business Enablement
Partner with business leaders to define analytical requirements, success measures, and outcomes before solutions are developed.
Serve as a subject matter expert on analytics solution design, metrics definition, and interpretation of results.
Evaluate analytical approaches and recommend solutions aligned to business priorities.
Collaborate closely with Data Engineers to ensure analytical needs are understood and supported by reliable data structures.
Agile Delivery & Cross‑Functional Collaboration
Act as a senior contributor within an agile environment, actively participating in planning, estimation, and delivery discussions.
Independently evaluate requests for analytics or reporting solutions, assessing business value, feasibility, and effort.
Ensure solutions are delivered on time, meet stakeholder expectations, and align with enterprise analytics standards.
Data Quality, Governance, & Documentation
Ensure accuracy, consistency, and clarity in analytical outputs and reporting.
Document analytical logic, calculations, assumptions, and business definitions for transparency and reuse.
Contribute to enterprise standards related to metrics, reporting, and analytics best practices
Mentorship & Organizational Leadership (Non‑People Manager)
Influence analytical maturity across the organization by modeling best practices and critical thinking.
Act as a thought partner to leaders by challenging assumptions and advocating for data‑supported decisions.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Data Analytics, Business Analytics, or a related field or equivalent professional experience.
5–8+ years of progressive experience in data analytics or business intelligence.
Advanced experience with:
Power BI (including complex DAX and data modeling for analytics)
SQL for data analysis and validation (not pipeline development)
Python and/or R for advanced analysis
Strong understanding of analytics solution design, metrics development, and business interpretation of data.
Demonstrated ability to influence decisions through data driven insights.
Excellent analytical, problem solving, and communication skills.
Construction or project-based industry experience preferred.
WORKING CONDITIONS
