Senior Automation Engineer

Description -

HP One Agent is a low-level device platform software component installed on millions of HP devices to enable connectivity, telemetry, and more modern AI or subscription use cases.

1. The agent is modular and event-based, modernizing the HP App Enabling Services driver.

2. The agent is designed with a strong reusability and platform mindset, where most code features are implemented as shared libraries, and the majority of business features are developed as modules, all for reusability across the HP portfolio

3. Further, it is used as an enabler for the new AI PCs portfolio for performing local inference and more.

We are looking for a Senior Automation Engineer to work on the HP OneCloud Agent and the Cloud IoT framework that enables it. The agent is currently installed on more than 35m devices.

Job Summary
• This role is responsible for designing, implementing, and executing comprehensive testing strategies to identify defects, verify functionality, and maintain a high standard of product excellence. The role monitors testing progress, analyzes results, and makes informed decisions based on testing outcomes. The role ensures the delivery of software that meets user expectations and industry standards, by collaborating closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders.

Responsibilities
• Designs quality assurance and test processes for subsystems of end-user applications, systems software, and firmware running on hardware, local, networked, and Internet-based platforms.
• Analyzes design and determines test scripts, coding, automation, and integration activities required based on general objectives and knowledge of overall architecture of product or solution.
• Writes and executes complete testing plans, protocols, and documentation for assigned portion of application.
• Identifies and debugs, and creates solutions for issues with code and integration into software and firmware architecture.
• Performs code reviews and participates in design discussions to identify potential quality issues.
• Analyzes testing processes and suggests improvements for enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of QA activities.
• Collaborates and communicates with management, internal, and outsourced development partners regarding test status, project progress, and issue resolution.
• Represents the software quality assurance team for all phases of larger and more-complex development projects.
• Provides guidance and mentoring to less-experienced staff members.

Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Information Technology, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 4-7 years of work experience, preferably in software quality assurance, test harnesses and QA focused tools, or a related field or an advanced degree with 3-5 years of work experience.

The base pay range for this role is $79,150 to $121,900 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only).  Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
