Job Description:

The Director of Medicare Advantage Product Development is responsible for the strategic design, development, and lifecycle management of Medicare Advantage (MA) products. This role leads cross-functional collaboration to ensure products are financially viable and sustainable, competitive, compliant, and aligned with organizational objectives. The Director plays a critical role in shaping benefit design, pricing strategy, regulatory submissions, and ongoing product optimization.

The role is hybrid and will require travel to areas where Select Health conducts business. Currently, we are not hiring remote workers in the following states: CA, CT, HI, IL, NY, RI, VT, and WA.  Please note that a video interview through Microsoft Teams will be required as well as onsite interviews and meetings.

Essential Functions

  • Lead the end-to-end development of Medicare Advantage products, including HMO and Special Needs Plans (SNPs).
  • Define product strategy based on market analysis, member needs, competitive intelligence, and organizational goals to ensure sustainability and profitability.
  • Design benefit packages, supplemental benefits, and value-added offerings that differentiate products in the marketplace.
  • With the actuarial and finance teams, lead and support CMS bid development, including benefit design, pricing inputs, and documentation.
  • Partner with compliance, legal, and regulatory teams to address audits, inquiries, and regulatory changes.
  • Collaborate with actuarial and finance teams to develop pricing strategies, evaluate product profitability, and manage medical cost trends in partnership with the clinical organization.
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial and quality performance through benefit design and operational enhancements.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, healthcare administration, public health, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred)

  • 8–10+ years of experience in Medicare Advantage product development, product management, or related roles

  • Demonstrated experience leading MA bid development and product strategy

  • Experience working within a health plan, managed care organization, or payer environment

  • Proven track record of successfully launching and managing Medicare Advantage product

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree (MBA, MHA, MPH, or equivalent)

  • Experience with Special Needs Plans (DSNP, CSNP, ISNP)

  • Experience in value-based care models and provider partnerships including former experience with provider engagement models and incentives

Additional Information

  • This is an exempt, full-time position. Pay offers are determined by prior years of relevant experience within the established pay range.
  • In addition to the annual salary, to show our commitment to you and assist with your transition,, we may offer a sign-on and relocation bonus when applicable. With this position, you are eligible to participate in the Annual Pay for Performance (AP4P) Plan. This plan enables Intermountain Health to provide leaders with an additional performance compensation opportunity. The AP4P award opportunities are calculated as a percentage of your base salary. Awards are paid out based on attainment of selected Board-approved goals.

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience. 

$77.50 - $119.68
