We are looking for a talented, enthusiastic Program Manager to join our cross-functional team developing advanced technology and products for optical communications, industrial and consumer applications. You will be part of an inclusive and diverse team that is continuously learning and improving while they develop the next generation of industry leading products.

As the Program Manager, you will be collaborating with a team of engineers from various disciplines in the successful planning and completion of technical projects. You will play a central role in coordinating product development programs and the activities of various program stakeholders in an exciting and global business environment where new technologies are being introduced rapidly and project risks and requirements are constantly reassessed and adjusted. You will participate frequently in communications with customers and product line management and report to executive management on the program status.

Roles and Expectations

  • Lead multi-disciplinary cross-functional team as Program Manager for development and release to production of complex optical products at medium to high-volume

  • Develop, monitor, and control program plans with cross functional engineering teams

  • Overall ownership of, and accountability for project planning and Alpha and Beta deliveries. Responsibility for alignment of technical and programmatic execution with stakeholders, executive management, and customers

  • Participate with project team members on conceptual design, vendor and equipment interactions, prototyping, testing, and performance characterization

  • Identify gaps and recommend process improvements across project teams by questioning status quo, fostering innovative thinking, and engaging key stakeholders

Required Skills

  • Exceptional leadership skills, combining critical thinking with empathetic and diplomatic communication.  Demonstrated ability to form collaborative and cooperative working relationships in all interactions

  • At least 5 years of experience managing complex R&D programs with advanced product development

  • Ability to work in ambiguous situations and define a path to resolution

  • Stakeholder communication and management skills

  • Knowledge of product life cycle, business processes, and tools for project planning

  • Comfortable and effective interfacing directly with customers

Any of the following would be considered a strong asset:

  • Experience with Wafer fabrication including MEMS and CMOS

  • Familiarity with liquid crystal, software, photonics, optics, mechanical design, and/or electronics

  • Experience in conceptual design, vendor interaction, testing, and performance characterization

  • Structured Program management certifications such as PMI (PMP, PgMP), Scrum, Six Sigma, PRINCE2

  • Background in R&D and/or manufacturing of complex systems

  • Knowledge of Contract Manufacturer (CM) assembly/equipment capabilities and business processes

  • Experience working with geographically distributed teams and business partners

  • Working knowledge of Miro, Confluence, JIRA, Oracle, and/or Agile

  • Advanced degree in optical, electrical, physics, computer science or related technical fields

  • Familiarity with six-sigma techniques, e.g., design for manufacturability/reliability (DFx), SPC and ISO9001/TL9000 requirements
