Job Title:

DME Coordinator - Orthopedics

Job Summary:

To support the Orthopaedic clinic Durable Medical Equipment (DME) program by fitting patients with braces, managing the clinic DME inventory, monitoring internal DME billing processes, and ensuring staff and physicians are educated on requirements for appropriate DME utilization and billing.

High School Diploma/GED.

Certifications, Licenses or Registration Required:

Preferred Qualifications:

Training or experience in rehabilitation, athletic training, or physical therapy preferred.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Ability to learn new procedures and train others on them; ability to communicate verbally and in writing with both clinical/non-clinical employees and patients; time management and organization; ability to manage multiple tasks at once; ability to learn computer systems and applications; ability to prioritize activities; knowledge of insurance processes related to supplying orthopaedic braces.  

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Fitting braces to patients and providing necessary patient education related to braces    
  • Stocking and managing DME inventory, to include ordering, receiving, and maintaining appropriate PAR levels  
  • Communicating information related to new products with clinical staff and physicians    
  • Ensuring documentation related to DME is appropriate and accurate    
  • Educating clinical staff on proper fitting techniques    
  • Tracking payments related to DME claims to ensure billing has been completed appropriately   
  • Communicate new DME opportunities with management
