GCG is seeking Kitchen Assistants skilled food preparation and customer service with emphasis on presentation, innovation, food safety and value.

Requirements:

  • Assists in the timely and sanitary preparation of fruit, vegetables, and other food items in adherence with company guidelines and food and safety quality standards. 

  • Follows accurately the VPS (Variable Production Schedule) with quantities to be produced.

  • Assembles airline food in the appropriate quantities, places on meal trays and loads into airline containers to the required standards.

  • Maintains the highest standard of cleanliness and sanitation of equipment and workstations. 

  • Collaborates with and assists in the preparation, distribution, and assembly of meals, as required.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Minimum of four (4) CXC certificates including Mathematics, Food and Nutrition and English. 

  • Minimum of one (1) years’ experience in a similar position or in the Culinary Industry. 

  • Proven ability in the preparation of vegetables, hot and cold meals, baked goods and specialties.

  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, (Word, Excel and Outlook)

  • Knowledge of food safety management, occupational hazards, safety rules and HACCP would be an asset.

  • Valid Police Certificate of Character

  • Hands-on commitment to getting the job done and demonstrated creativity.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills.

  • Able to work in a fast-paced, team-focused, multifaceted environment.

  • Proven ability to direct and coordinate food prep operations.

  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Strong mathematical and analytical skills.

  • Ability to manage in intense periods with calm and understanding.
