The Corporate Treasury Operations department is responsible for bank relationship services, cash positioning & forecasting, executing daily receipts and disbursements, customer service support, and various oversight/compliance/control functions. This includes cash accounting activities, bank reconciliations and cheque fraud prevention using various franchise, in-house built and banking applications.
The Compliance and Controls team manages the Treasury Operations accounting model, including associated reconciliations, reporting and journal entries. They oversee the controls functions related to access to Treasury-owned applications and signing authority limits, and monitoring payment fraud attempts.
Position Responsibilities:
The Manager, Treasury Operations Compliance and Controls, reporting to the Director Treasury Operations, Compliance & Controls, serves as a subject matter expert for compliance-related tasks.
Conduct routine AML/ATF scanning and payment fraud tasks, acting as the Anti-Money Laundering subject matter expert for Treasury Operations
Collaborate with the Director, Treasury Compliance & Controls to enhance the First Line of Defense Compliance Framework for Treasury Operations, ensuring adherence to the latest OSFI guidelines, regulatory requirements, and Manulife’s risk management policies & guidelines.
Document business continuity plans as the back-up Business Continuity Plan Coordinator for Treasury Operations.
Support initiatives aimed at improving process efficiencies while maintaining a robust control environment within Treasury Operations
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, such as Risk MOR reporting, regulatory reporting for cash balances, and various Compliance-related reports, ensuring accuracy & timeliness across all submissions.
Participate in audit processes, including SOX and Key Risk audits, to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and internal controls.
Provide support across the Compliance team, including for Bank Reconciliation, Cash Accounting or Security Administration, as needed.
Required Qualifications:
University degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field
5-7 years of experience in the financial services industry, with expertise in treasury operations and compliance
Strong understanding of regulatory requirements, including OFSI guidelines & industry standards related to financial compliance.
Experienced in risk management & internal controls.
Proficient in troubleshooting problems, exploring all available options, and determining when to escalate or seek external assistance.
Skilled in reviewing current processes and recommending enhancements to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
Tech-savvy, with advanced Excel skills including macros, and intermediate proficiency in analytics automation tools such as Power BI and Alteryx, with a desire to become an expert.
Preferred Qualifications:
Ability to connect information from various sources to investigate variances and explain differences using the treasury management system and other data sources.
Attention to detail with the ability to quickly respond to problems within tight deadlines.
Proactive in identifying issues, asking questions, recommending alternative solutions, and implementing agreed-upon solution.
Effective communicator with stakeholders at all levels of the organization (internal & external)
Team player who thrives in a fast-paced environment with tight deadlines and critical functions requiring a high level of accuracy.

Salary range is expected to be between

The actual salary will vary depending on local market conditions, geography and relevant job-related factors such as knowledge, skills, qualifications, experience, and education/training.
