Practice: Family Medicine Clinic

Location: Littleton, CO

The Medical Assistant is primarily responsible for triaging patients and administering treatment based on the Provider’s direction. 

This includes:

  • “Working patients up” prior to seeing their provider

  • Follow up on all orders from the patients’ provider

  • Assisting provider with patient care/treatment, as necessary

Overall, the MA assists with maintaining a high standard of patient care as directed by the provider and following CMS EHR Initiatives, as well as recommendations from PHP.  The MA role also follows all guidelines and policies determined by the Practice.

DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:

  • Assure effective interpersonal relations with patients and staff

    • Consistently project a pleasant, congenial and sensitive attitude towards patient and staff

    • Exhibit a willingness to resolve problems and improve workflow efficiency

  • Assisting the Provider:

    • Documenting in the electronic medical record patient vitals, histories, disease specific questionnaires, in house lab results, etc.

    • Assist in exam room as needed

    • Complete orders as needed:

      • Lab

      • Radiology

      • Procedures

      • Immunizations and injections

      • Referrals

      • Patient Education Handouts:  Give and explain to patient

      • Medications:  Fill new and refill prescriptions as defined by the provider

    • Create and respond to telephone encounters including taking messages from the phone logs

    • Clean and maintain the exam rooms and stock supplies

  • Electronic Medical Record:

    • Maintain and review work queues as defined in policy guidelines

    • Prep medical visits prior to patient being seen

    • Use patient portal for

      • Messages

      • Reminders

      • Test Results

    • Maintain and review the “Actions” tracking system

  • Other duties as requested

EDUCATION

  • High school diploma plus specific training in healthcare

EXPERIENCE

  • 1-2 years hands on clinical experience preferably in outpatient setting working directly with physicians and patients.

Salary Range:

$19-22 hourly
