About the Role
You are invited to apply to join our St Vincent's Haematology Nursing team with a new position of a Haematology Clinical Trial Nurse Consultant.


Directly reporting to the Inpatient Nurse Unit Manager and in close collaboration with the Haematology Clinical Research Centre, you will using expert knowledge for the delivery of Haematology Clinical Trials to support the delivery of high quality, safe and cohesive care to patients undergoing Haematology clinical trials.

Classification for this position is ZJ4 - ($113,646 per annum).

Your Contribution

  • Provide specialized clinical and research coordination to support staff in the planning, delivery of treatment and ongoing management of patients on a clinical trial from admission through to discharge
  • Provide direct clinical support, instruction and mentoring for nurses with regard to nursing assessments and interventions for patients on clinical trials
  • Support the delivery of patient and family education to enhance understanding of the aims, expectations, and procedures for therapeutic agents they are receiving
  • Establishment and ongoing review of resources and guidelines  that support nursing staff with patient education
  • Current National criminal history check

About 6 West

6 West is a 19 bed unit comprising acute Haematology and Oncology beds, providing comprehensive inpatient care through diagnosis and management of a wide range of haematological conditions.  The department also supports the delivery of treatment and ongoing management of patients on complex haematology clinical trials, working in close collaboration with the Haematology Clinical Research Centre (HCRC).  The HCRC offers a diverse range of clinical trials, including CAR-T cells and T cell engagers and other novel therapeutics
