Job Description

The Technical Evangelist acts as champions for the product, communicating its value proposition, benefits, and features to potential customers/industry influencers. 

To be successful in this role you will: 

  • Embrace the public and take every opportunity to promote products to a mass markets 

  • Live for “the stage” and offer wonderful insights to their audience both in-person and through digital and social media interactions

In this role the Technical Evangelist will:

  • Be part of a team of innovative and dynamic individuals who are largely influential both internally and externally.  

  • Work cross functionally  with marketing, sales, and product managers to drive thought leadership of our video security portfolio in the market, with an initial focus on the Pelco brand and over time expanding into other portfolios

  • Bring a creative, energetic, and also has a zeal for creating a following in the market for the product that you represent

  • Have a passion for the product, being with customers, and being on stage, 

  • Demonstrate powerful speaking abilities and present the product by referencing brand values or showing how the product embodies customer needs 

Additional Skills/Responsibilities:   

  • Can take a complex product or service and explain it in simple terms

  • Understand end user pain points and outcomes and determine how the products address those challenges,  optimizing and improving their ability to protect people and property

  • Obtain an understanding of the voice of the customer: likes and dislikes, behaviors, and most importantly, how they engage with the brand

  • Regularly engage with customers across different channels and mediums such as video content, podcasts, customer interviews, and social media engagement are what you do every day (i.e. building your own audience/brand does not scare you)

  • Work with marketing to build videos, organize webinars and deliver demos as great performances to show your audience the power of our solutions in action

  • Be the person that customers remember and want to see again// Get our community to love what we have to offer and become a community who engages with us 

  • Enable sales to grow their sales pipeline and leads by working with product marketing to create prospect ready videos, conversion tips and tricks, FAQs, product teasers, facts & figures, and other great funnel catalysts

  • Work with customers to solve issues, determine needs, and address calls and emails

  • Accompany sales representatives on calls and help customers achieve their desired outcomes 

  • Team up with sales on the the largest deals using your influence and product expertise, wrapped in a presentation and demonstration that delights the customer

  • Serves as an advisor to the company and has deep insights and can provide excellent guidance for future products and services

Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in one of the following: Networking presales, Security solution sales, Technical consultancy sales, Technical marketing, Technical Recruiting, Product marketing, Professional Public Speaking, Theater or Social Media

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred, emphasis in Marketing, Engineering or Communications is desired

  • Video Security Market experience preferred but not required

  • Proven track record of successful public speaking and/or audience engagement through digital media engagement

  • Creative, strategic, and resourceful individual that is a self-starter and self-learner

  • Committed to 25-50% travel by automobile and air
