Position Summary

The Inventory Planning, Efficiency and Waste Reduction Manager will help lead the development and execution of data-driven strategies to improve business performance, specifically, but not limited to inventory damages, expiration and disposition. In this dynamic role, you will be responsible for supporting multi-year plans to maintain sales and margin growth while reducing waste.  This role will partner closely with various teams to identify opportunities, validate business impact, establish timelines to capture value and ensure consistent execution of solutions.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Support the build and implementation of process improvements to address pain points and close gaps that lead to unnecessary waste

  • Standardize Ways of Working across the enterprise: develop guidelines and standard operating procedures to ensure strategies are executed flawlessly

  • Measure KPI’s and success metrics to track performance of initiatives

  • Consistently execute tactics to deliver and maintain targeted efficiencies

  • Monitor business performance and diagnose opportunities

  • Supports $20+ billion in sales, $5 billion in inventory

Required Qualifications

  • 3+ years of Supply Chain, Sales and Operations planning, Inventory Management, Capacity Planning or similar experience, Merchandising, and/or Strategy

  • Experience analyzing inventory and service level performance

  • Experience aggregating data to facilitate cross-functional communication 

  • Experience with corporate finance/ building ROI models

  • Experience with mathematical and basic statistical knowledge

  • In-depth experience with MS Excel and PowerPoint

  • Ability to travel 5% of the time


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with change management methodologies

  • Good judgment and decision-making ability

  • Experience with technical tools, such as: SQL Assistant, Python, Tableau, SAP, Oracle

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

  • Strong business acumen

  • Strong interpersonal and influencing skills

  • Mastery of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including facilitation skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of inter-relationships between inventory planning, category management, and finance

  • Experience building inventory and replenishment models, incorporating multiple variables, for use in estimating downstream impacts of various business changes

  • Experience in Writing/relaying detailed business requirements for IT updates/builds

  • Merchandise familiarity - understanding of retail merchandising basics (i.e., Category Management), and merchandising organizational structures and processes

  • Masters Degree in Supply Chain or MBA

  • Supply Chain Certification in asset- RSSC, CSCMP or APICS

  • Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics and/or other quantitative analytical degree

  • Project Management, Six Sigma and/or Lean certification


Education

Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

Pay Range

The typical pay range for this role is:

$60,300.00 - $159,120.00

This pay range represents the base hourly rate or base annual full-time salary for all positions in the job grade within which this position falls.  The actual base salary offer will depend on a variety of factors including experience, education, geography and other relevant factors.  This position is eligible for a CVS Health bonus, commission or short-term incentive program in addition to the base pay range listed above.
