CommBank’s Group Finance is looking for an Executive Manager to join and lead our Regulatory Capital Decision Support team
  
The Group Finance team provides financial support, insights and advice to the CEO, CFO, Executive Leadership Team and Board including Group Results presentation and the Annual report. We support the Group’s strategy of building tomorrow’s bank today for our customers, through a focus on three key priorities of trust, resilience and capital generation.
 

The Role. 
As the Executive Manager, you’ll join our Capital & Regulatory Reporting Crew. The Capital & Regulatory Reporting Crew is responsible for providing capital and reporting guidance and overseeing the delivery of all capital and regulatory reporting changes. This includes changes for system upgrades and enhancements; risk modelling updates; new or variations to products; and changes to internal reporting. The data produced by the Crew is reported in annual reports, investor relations presentations and Pillar 3 documents.
 

You will be responsible for ensuring that we have a clear and documented understanding of the APRA regulatory reporting requirements, we remediate issues identified with the returns in a timely manner and work with business areas to undertake timely reviews of the regulatory reporting assumptions and logic.
 

On any given day you will: 

  • Provide key SME knowledge over the APRA regulatory reporting requirements, including regulatory surveys and forms.
  • Understanding the regulatory reporting interpretations and their translation into the regulatory reporting engines and processes.
  • Deep diving into issues that are identified in the regulatory reporting process and making prioritisation decisions and negotiating regulatory reporting outcomes against other deliverables e.g. business and new regulatory requirements;
  • Manage stakeholder relationships and deliverables across Business, Technology, Finance and Treasury to deliver the regulatory reporting decision support backlog;
  • Partner with the business and downstream reporting stakeholders to deliver accurate regulatory reporting, so as to avoid regulatory penalties.
  • Performance management and ongoing coaching of team members and management of employee relations within the team, including use of reward and recognition programs.
     

We’re interested in hearing from people who have: 
You will have extensive experience in building and maintaining strong relationships across large and complex organisations. You will also have experience managing a working relationship with regulators

  • Extensive Regulatory Reporting knowledge
  • Tertiary qualification in accounting, finance, or an equivalent business-related discipline
  • Demonstrable financial services experience
  • Proven experience in managing and developing a team while effectively leading the vision and values of the business.
