POSITION SUMMARY:
The Slotting Coordinator is responsible for maintaining and coordinating all slotting processes in a cost-efficient manner. The Slotting Coordinator positions new listing based on the available data, ensures the products are properly placed in terms of velocity, temperature requirements, size, weight, and any other specifications. This job also involves analyzing data from operational reports, following up with operations leaders, and taking immediate action. Must maintain a balance between the Sysco Redistribution Center, merchandising and the selection pick path.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Determine warehouse placement of all incoming products according to size, quantity, weight, temperature requirements, and ensure that products are slotted within before receipt.
- Collaborate with Merchandising and receiving departments to ensure Ti-Hi changes are flagged and updated, and all other parameters are correct and maintained in our systems.
- Analyze and provide feedback on the reduction of letdowns and any other operational improvement related to slotting.
- Work closely with inventory Control and Warehouse operations to identify gaps in processes and resolve issues.
- Analyze slotting reports and follow up with operations leader on improvement opportunities.
- Be an active member of the Slotting Committee; take selector feedback, filter appropriately and escalate issues /opportunities to operational leaders .
- Spend time on the outbound shifts to follow up on specific actions and give retroaction to outbound crew.
- Rearrange products, as needed, to make room for new products to efficiently utilize warehouse space and track products movement through the warehouse.
- Separate items, as needed, to reduce the possibility of miss pick and miss delivery of products to customers.
- Check slots of discontinued items to determine if the product is gone to ensure that no product is wasted due to deletion from the inventory tracking system.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- 2+ years’ experience in the Warehouse /Distribution Services field preferred.
SKILLS:
- Able to read, write and communicate effectively, as it relates to the job and the safety regulations.
- Working knowledge of the following: inventory control techniques and procedures, product lines and their dimensions, products sold by Sysco, Sysco safety and security policies, equipment associated with warehouse activities and the operations of the equipment.
- Good working knowledge of the following systems and technologies: Sysco Warehouse Management System (SWMS), Sysco Uniform System (SUS), Radio Frequency (RF) Admin.
- Intermediate personal computer skills, inclusive of Microsoft Word, Business Objects, Microsoft Access and Excel.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or associates of an organization.
- Must have exemplary listening skills to facilitate effective two-way communication.
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals.
- Must be able to lift and move cases at a minimum of 70 pounds in weight up to 100 pounds.

- Experience with fast pace work, physical labor, and flexible for shift rotations as business needs required.
