Job Summary
• This role is responsible for managing the streamlining of procurement processes and ensuring efficient and cost-effective acquisition of goods and services. The role leads a team of exempt individual contributors, coordinating procurement activities to achieve commodity objectives and compliance requirements. The role coordinates purchasing activities across departments and business units, ensuring the efficiency of procurement activities.
Responsibilities
• Undertakes accountability for the development of programs, methods and/or process solutions, ensuring that performance meets category and business requirements and delivers continuous improvements.
• Manages a team of exempt individual contributors, leads and coordinates daily activities to meet commodity objectives, business controls and compliance requirements.
• Develops an annual procurement plan for assigned business teams, aligning with business requirements, available resources, and market opportunities.
• Ensures the delivery of products and services that meet the performance metrics defined by senior management.
• Consults with business leaders to guide and influence strategic decision-making within a limited scope.
• Proactively identifies opportunities for process improvement, policy development and risk mitigation, and engages in the design.
• Plans, directs and monitors operational/tactical activities of procurement staff, which may involve strategic issues.
• Takes a proactive role in driving innovation within the procurement space, specifically focusing on strategies to facilitate and accommodate the business's significant growth.
• Performs talent management responsibilities including recruitment, performance management, coaching and career development.
• Utilizes extensive industry knowledge and subject matter expertise to deliver industry-leading procurement best practices.
Education & Experience Recommended
• Four-year or Graduate Degree in Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing Engineering, Business Administration, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.
• Typically has 7-10 years of job-related experience or 5-7 years of management experience, preferably in procurement, category management, operations, or a related field.
