Job Description:
The role of the Sustainability Executive or Senior Sustainability Executive Sustainability is to promote and support Sustainability activities in the ASEAN region. Reporting to the Senior Sustainability Manager of the Sustainability Promotion Unit (SPU), the successful candidate should have a keen interest in Corporate Sustainability as well as being an excellent Communicator and a person who is interested in “getting things done” for the good our people and planet. The candidate should have experience in event management, able to communicate in multiple media platforms - both for internal and external stakeholders; able to develop, manage multiple Social Contribution activities and ensure smooth delivery of these events.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead internal and external stakeholders to design, review, co-ordinate and execute Social Contribution events, initiatives, and programs locally and in the region. [example: the Hitachi Young Leaders Initiative (HYLI)]
- Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, develop appropriate communication channels, messages to promote, support Sustainability and Social Contribution activities locally and in the region. Understanding of and experience with digital communication tools, particularly social media to enhance outreach is preferred.
- Consistently support work on developing and implementing sustainability strategies
- Conduct human rights due diligence surveys or other ESG surveys as needed
- Monitor, collate, report, and summarize local, regional Sustainability and Social Contribution news, trends, and regulations to enable global information sharing.
- Handle administrative tasks such as invoicing and monthly reporting.
- Provide administrative support to ensure compliance to legal, company policies, including preparing, tracking, archiving legal and finance documents to ensure proper documentation and timely payment to vendors.
- Participate and be actively involved in assigned Hitachi Asia projects when required.
Qualifications/ Requirements:
- Possess a diploma or degree with relevant experience (e.g., experience with sustainability, human rights)
- Candidates with experience in managing/ organizing events and/or have strong project management skills.
- Candidates must be confident in handling both traditional and new communications technologies (such as digital marketing, social media marketing).
- Be open-minded and be willing to develop constructive, cooperative working relationship with others, while maintaining trust, respect, and cooperation at all times.
- Self-motivated, independent, and result-oriented with a strong analytical mindset. Must possess ability to multi-task and work to meet deadlines. Must be flexible and willing to be stretched into new areas of work as required.
- An excellent command of the English language, both written and verbal.
