Impact

As a Technical Architect, you will lead the design and evolution of scalable, secure, and high-performance backend systems built on microservices architecture. You will drive architectural decisions, define best practices, and ensure engineering excellence across services built using Java and modern cloud-native technologies.

You will work closely with product, engineering, DevOps, and business teams to translate complex requirements into robust technical solutions. This role demands strong hands-on expertise, deep troubleshooting skills, and the ability to guide teams through design, development, and production challenges.

The Job

  • Define and drive microservices architecture for large-scale, distributed systems.

  • Design and build scalable, resilient, and high-availability backend services using Java/J2EE.

  • Lead architecture discussions, solution design, and technical decision-making across teams.

  • Perform production triage, root cause analysis, and ensure timely resolution of critical issues.

  • Analyze logs, metrics, and traces to debug complex production issues.

  • Ensure systems are secure, observable, and compliant with enterprise standards.

  • Lead technology upgrades, security fixes, and platform modernization initiatives.

  • Create and maintain architecture artifacts such as UML diagrams, sequence diagrams, and system flows.

  • Drive best practices in coding, design patterns, and data structures.

  • Collaborate with DevOps teams to enable CI/CD pipelines and containerized deployments.

  • Mentor engineers and conduct code reviews and design reviews.

  • Ensure performance tuning, scalability, and cost optimization of backend systems.

  • Work in an agile environment with ownership of end-to-end delivery.

  • Participate in on-call support and incident management when required.

Qualifications & Skills required

The role requires a talented, self-directed, and self-motivated individual with a strong work ethic and the following qualifications, experience, and skills:

  • 10+ years of experience in backend development using Java/J2EE.

  • 8+ years of experience in Microservices architecture.

  • Strong expertise in Core Java, multithreading, concurrency, and design patterns.

  • Advanced coding and triage experience in Java, J2EE, Tomcat, and Apache applications.

  • Hands-on experience with Spring Core, Spring Boot, and Spring Integration.

  • Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP).

  • Strong experience in troubleshooting using logs and observability tools.

  • Experience with containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).

  • Proficiency with version control systems (Git) and CI/CD pipelines.

  • Advanced knowledge of shell scripting and batch job processing.

  • Experience with RESTful web services and API design.

  • Experience with databases such as Snowflake/MongoDB and performance tuning.

  • Experience with messaging systems/integration (MQ/Kafka or similar).

  • Strong understanding of distributed systems and system design.

  • Ability to create UML diagrams and architecture documentation (HLD/LLD).

  • Experience in handling production support, incident management, and SLA-driven environments.

  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.

  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, matrixed organization.

Good to Have

  • Experience with Go (Golang) for building high-performance microservices.

  • Exposure to security best practices (OAuth2, JWT, API security)

  • Experience in performance engineering and load testing

  • Knowledge of platform modernization and legacy migration
