The Gas Sales Representative – Combo is responsible for gaining commitments for profitable natural gas customer acquisitions within our new and existing residential and commercial markets. The purpose of this position is to grow the company’s customer base and the use of natural gas through multiple appliances per customer.

This position reports to the Company’s Hendersonville Operations Center in Mills River, North Carolina.

What You Will Do:

  • Generating revenue through the sale and installation of gas appliances, gas piping and or other Company approved programs.
  • Serving as the central point of contact for residential customers, builders, developers, and contractors in the designated territory.
  • Acting as a liaison for the Company and the surrounding communities, while being actively involved in industry related associations.
  • Selling, promoting, and coordinating the installation of natural gas appliances, related services and products, and service installations within the assigned area as customer demands warrant.
  • Acquiring accurate project information to provide input for use in the Workforce Management (WFM) and Sales Force systems, and working as the liaison between the Company and external customers so that timely installation of gas facilities is completed.
  • Supporting corporate sales programs and strategies, as well as, customer service initiatives through involvement in industry-related, as well as, community organizations.

The IRS standard mileage rate is paid for all business miles driven.

Who You Are:

  • Must have a valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
  • Bachelor's Degree in related discipline (such as: Business, Sales, Marketing), OR Associate's Degree in related discipline (such as: Business, Sales, Marketing) and 2+ years of experience, OR High School diploma or equivalent and 4+ years of experience.
  • Preferred: Bachelor’s Degree from a recognized college or university in related field (such as: Business, Sales, Marketing).
  • Minimum of two years of natural gas or related sales experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate both orally and in writing in a competent and professional manner.
  • Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Ability to adapt to a changing business environment.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a diverse team.
  • Strong interpersonal, time management and follow-up skills.
  • Ability to accurately complete a variety of required paperwork in a timely manner, including sales contracts.
  • Experience in sales and marketing practices and procedures.
  • Ability to perform job duties outside of normal working hours.
  • Ability to physically access attics, basements, and crawl spaces for job quotes.
  • Desire to perform customer facing sales of natural gas equipment.
  • Reliable personal transportation to perform job duties.
  • Ability to travel across the assigned company territory.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Experience

  • Knowledge of installation codes and standards, inspection process standards, underground distribution system, equipment applications and sizing requirements
  • Working knowledge of Customer Information Systems, SalesForce software
  • Bilingual (Spanish) communication skills

Working Conditions:

  • Position requires travel to customers' homes and to other offices within Dominion Energy.
  • Work is typically performed in an office environment, as well as, inside and outside customers' premises.
  • Candidate is expected to live within a reasonable distance of the assigned territory.
  • Working and attendance of events outside of normal business hours is expected.
